19th Annual World Fireknife Championship

Exhilarating acrobatic moves combine with ancient Samoan culture at this event, which takes place from May 11-14 at the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu. The championship is part of the "We are Samoa Festival" and features fireknife dancers of all ages.

Preliminary performances begin at 7:45 pm on Wednesday, May 11. Semi-finals, duet and junior competitions take place at 7:45 on Thursday, May 12. On Friday, May 13, finalists will perform in the final competition, which takes place in the intermission of the Polynesian Cultural Center's evening show, Ha: Breath of Life. The 2011 World Fireknife Champion will be announced at the end of the show on Saturday, May 14.
