We stayed at Honua Kai with the family (6, 9 year olds) and it was perfect. The views were great (even of the majestic mountains) and the property was well maintained with ample towel service and friendly staff. The sunsets are amazing as well as the pristine khaki beaches. The pools offered enough variety for our girls during the stay.
We weren’t sure how much we’d use or value the kitchenette but it was helpful for breakfasts, some lunches and a dinner which helped for our pocket books. I wish there was some basic stocking of cooking amenities (salt, sugar, oil?) that people left behind so had to stock up at nearby Safeway which was easy enough.
Some hiccups at checkin as the studio we rented were subject to scaffolding and maintenance so they relocated us to a one bedroom in the newer Kenoa tower which despite the initial hassle of packing our car up again, was fine with us. In retrospect the studio would’ve been too small.
