Punahele Penthouse is on the 7th (top) floor of the Kona Ali'i Condo Complex which is located in the heart of Kailua-Kona. You're within walking distance to many attractions, restaurants/bars and shops! Next door there's even a volleyball sand pit! A short walk of about 2 blocks to the Farmer's Market & Kona Inn Shopping Village and about 4 blocks to Hulihe'e Palace and the start of the famous Iron Man race. After a day of exploring all that the Big Island has to offer, come home to relaxation - sit on the lanai, with a favorite spirit in hand, listen to the crashing of the ocean waves while watching people, perhaps dolphins & whales at play in the bay and witness the most breath taking sunset to end your day.

We had an amazing stay at the Punahele Penthouse. The view and ocean sounds from the lanai were incredible. The condo is in a perfect location to explore Kona and the island. The condo is stocked with everything you would ever need, including beach gear. The condo is cared for by the owners, we felt so welcome it was like we were renting from family. Thank you again, Diane and Brett, we can’t wait to return.

We had a wonderful stay in the condo. The view was great, space was clean and plentiful! Really enjoyed the slowed down atmosphere of Kona and did a ton of exploring the island with this as our home base.

I was very lucky to have found this condo! My mom lived in Kona for 30 years and we come back to visit. Two years ago we stayed at another condo which was lovely, but small. We took a chance on something different and so glad we did. They thought of everything at this condo!! Anything we needed they had. Any question we had they got back right away. The location can’t be beat, in the middle of Alii. I recommend this property to everyone!!

Amazing views from this condo! We loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the water and just listening to the waves. The spotting scope was great for observing all the boat/swimmer traffic in the bay. Thouroughly enjoyed out stay.

We recently stayed for 2 weeks at this awesome 7th floor penthouse. The views off the 1st floor balcony ar breath taking. I sat many mornings drinking coffee and just staring at the water. Unfortunately there are a ridiculous amount of homeless people that stay along the waters edge right below the building across the street.
Some pros about this condo is it was very clean and completely stocked with everything you'd need, even down to reusable grocery bags, and the location was perfect. There were a couple of small things that I feel could make this place even better. One very inconvenient thing was there were not glass or microwaveable plates to reheat leftovers. Also the coffee maker would shut off after brewing the pot and then the coffee would get cold quickly. We would try turning it back on to warm coffee but it would quickly shut off. This may have been user error, but irritated my husband to no end bc he drinks lots of coffee.
The one other thing is the dryer. It took forever to dry a load and I mean 2-3 hours just for one cycle and then sometimes a second cycle was needed. I put the settings as the directions stated and it still took forever. We'd get home from a late day and I'd wash clothes, but if we needed beach towels again for the next day, I'd have to stay up super late or set my alarm to wake me back up to restart the dryer if needed. Not ideal when wanting to rest on vacation. Overall the pros completely outweigh cons and I would suggest staying here.

The views, the location, the amenities - all exceded our expectations! But even more than those, the owners did! This trip was supposed to be an a girls trip (tradition) with my mom, myself, and my 2 daughters. We very unexpectedly lost my mother toward the end of last year, so we still went and brought my husband and dad to celebrate her! Its hard to explain, but the respect and the ease of everything related to this condo made it that much more special! My only regret is npt signing the physical guestbook, as i had intended. Kept putting it off and then forgot! I promise, you will not have any disappointment in this place or the owners! All are pretty special!

Our stay at this property was great. The location couldnt be better. The view was amazing. The property was very clean and the host was great. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the big island.

The condo was very well equipped with both kitchen and recreational items needed for 4 adults. As the host couple, we prefered the ensuite bathroom so we took the downstairs bedroom, which was fine. Our only issue was the living room TV which was complicated and difficult to use. The sound bar never worked and only one volume level was possible. On Sunday we wanted to watch an NFL game, and we then learned that only the upstairs TV has the full list of Spectrum cable channels including NFL games live. It would be helpful if the owner would pay to allow the living room TV to have the same list of channels which are available on the upstairs TV, which also had a more seamless remote contol operation.
