    This 2 bedroom, 1 bath condo in Hilo is beachfront next to Carlsmith Beach Park where you can swim and snorkel all day every day and get up close to the sea turtles! Your home-away-from-home has everything you need for the perfect getaway or extended vacation. The living room is the perfect place to relax after a long day sight-seeing around the Big Island, with TV, cable and unlimited high-speed internet. The kitchen is well-equipped with ideal for making those scrumptious island meals using all the goodies you picked up at the Hilo Farmer's Market. Eat inside at the dining table, or outside on the lanai and let those island breezes take you away. One bedroom has a King size comfortable bed, second bedroom has two twin beds. The laundry facility (coin operated washer/dryer) is located at the end of the corridor.

    You have access to the shared-use pool on the ground floor.

    We loved how close to nature this location was. It was a great, peaceful place to use a home base. The only thing that would have improved the stay is providing snorkeling gear.

    Mauna Loa Shores 508 has exceeded expectations. The apartment was spotless, in excellent condition and exceptionally well equipped. Also, our lanai and the primary bedroom look out on the ocean, and we walked every day a short distance to the beach. The location is ideal, out of the business district of Hilo, yet convenient to town, too. Our contacts with the manager were prompt and very helpful. We have stayed in four other places in Hilo over the years, and this is by far the best!

    The building could use a little love but the condo itself was good. No air conditioning but we were comfortable enough. Would likely stay on the Kona side of the island in future but would consider this place again if we were to stay over in Hilo. We did not try the pool. T&K W.

    We loved our stay here. The balcony and one bedroom have a lovely sea view., looking out over Carlsmith Beach Park. We disagree with some other reviews—AC would be a waste here, you just need to open the windows front and back to get a cool fresh breeze through the condo in the evening, and then close the street side windows at night to block road noise, which is not bad, so long as the front windows are closed. Great location, as it is close enough to central Hilo to be very convenient, without the negatives that often come with an urban setting. The furniture is not new but is very comfortable. The kitchen is well furnished for a vacation rental. But the pool is mostly shady and quite cool, as other reviewers noted. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, the building is very secure, and the unit is well managed. We would totally come back here again.
