We had a very nice stay. Karrie had good amenities for beach activities, in the kitchen, and in the medicine cabinet. The provided fruit was delicious. Laundry was helpful too. The ambient sounds of nature at night may be loud for some, but earplugs are provided. Dresser drawers (inside) could use some cleaning so we did not use them.

My wife and I stayed for five days as a quiet base for our island excursions. Karrie and her family greeted us and made us feel welcome. The ceiling fans make up for no a/c. The kitchen is nicely equipped, ample towels, washer / dryer are handy. On site parking. The views are amazing and the coqui frogs sing you to sleep. We had a great stay!

It was a beautiful property. From the bedroom there is a great view of the ocean and it faces West so it's a great sunset view. The home had everything we needed, including a washer and dryer right off the back Lanai. The host was great and met us when we arrived and helped with questions during our stay. My husband loved their sweet dog. The bed was comfortable, there were extra pillows and blankets. The only issue we had the entire stay was that the fan light in the bedroom started making a little noise about the third night but she came and adjusted it for us so the next night it was fine. If she couldn't have gotten it fixed then she had other fans we could use. She's going to have her husband look into it. I like to sleep really cold and while it felt a little warm when we first laid down for bed, we turned the fan on and it was fine and within an hour or two it even got a little chilly and we even got the other blanket out at one point. It really was a great place at a great price for that area and I highly recommend it.

My stay here was absolutely lovely. The view looking out to the ocean cannot be beat for sunset. Karrie and her family were incredibly kind and welcoming and the accommodations were perfect! The house had everything we could possibly need and was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself on the big island in the future.

Property is quaint and peaceful. I loved the solitude and the many calls of the birds and animals. Location provided us with easy access to many beaches and other sites of interest to my wife and I. Hosts also made sure things were in working order and responded very quickly if we had questions. We wish to stay at this location again. We had a dream vacation!

Sometimes you have to take five star ratings on lodging and restaurants with a grain of salt because people tend to dish out 4 and 5 stars too easily. Not this lodging. Excellent, friendly and generous hosts. Reasonable price. You get an excellent value. The beauty of the elevation is that you get the panorama of the Pacific ocean, a rural setting (for Kona) just below Holualoa, and the sun and the coolness of the elevation. Any lower and you would be warmer at night, experience the humidity sometimes felt on Ali'i and lower elevations when the trades are not blowing, and you would be rubbing shoulders with more subdivisions with their parties and dogs barking. This is an ohana (family) place, not what you want if you want to party. The beauty of the location is that it is very convenient to Kona and gives you options of more than one route whether you are going north, south, or east. Comes in handy with traffic which is becoming more and more a part of the west side of The Big Island. The unit itself is comfortable and everything is nearly new or remodeled. You can't get a much better owner/manager than Karrie. Fresh fruit, lots of trees and greenery, birds, turkeys, and other wildlife--the affectionate cat is no extra charge. If there is a time opening, consider yourself blessed. These ohana units are very hard to find.
