Kana'i A Nalu is a quiet resort that sits on the oceanfront away from the road on Ma'alaea Bay. This setting is wonderful for romantic sunset strolls. For the more active person, there is a great beach to run on as you can do so for miles in peace away from the crowds. Just a short walk down the quiet, tree-lined street from Kana'i A Nalu is Haycraft Park, which leads to miles of uninterrupted sand and surf all the way to Sugar Beach. If there is a big south swell, the wave off the harbor, "Freight Trains," can be one of the best in the world attracting expert surfers. Toward the east of Ma'alaea is a great spot for windsurfing, during both trade and Kona winds.

A short walk down the road will lead you to Ma'alaea Harbor with its great restaurants and shops, including the Five Star rated waterfront. Just steps away are the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, a putt-putt golf course, rock climbing wall, trampoline, and bumper boats. Fun for the entire family!

Ma'alaea is located 20 minutes from Lahaina town; 20 minutes from Kihei; and 30 minutes from Wailea and also the OGG Kahului ...

Love the central, yet out-of-the-way location. Had a great vacation! Kathy was very responsive to our needs.

If you want peace and quiet away from busy tourist locations, this spot is for you. I booked the condo for the unobstructed ocean view and we definitely got our money’s worth in that regard. Although the sunsets in Maui are spectacular, we are sunrise people and rose early each morning to watch the beautiful sunrise from the lanai. The pool and community barbecue areas are nice and clean and very quiet. The condo was comfortable but could use a deep clean. Carpets the bedrooms and small area rugs are stained and show obvious signs of wear and tear / high traffic. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Thank you!

We had a comfortable stay at Kanai A Nalu condos. The ocean view is great and the unit is well stocked. The area is a bit breezy (lots of winds unfortunately) and Maalea is likely not the best areas in Maui to stay in (you really need to know where you are renting and have a car for sure). The beach is alright, but Maui in general seems to have a homeless issue or people camping on the beach (and all that follows suit). Also with all VRBO surcharges, it is likely you will get more for your $$$ at Wailea, Kihei, Lahaina or Kanapali. (Even outside of VRBO). Sorry I had to write such a review, but hopefully this helps people who are completely unaware and new to Maui or this particular area. Mahalo!
