Our guests share that at "Halani" (heavenly breath) the blue of the expansive 180 degree unobstructed ocean view, the pool and hot tub, crowned by blue skies when you sit on your balcony overlooking the south Kona shore is one of a kind and makes for an unforgettable vacation.


The master bedroom features ocean views from three sides from all rooms you can hear the waves at night. Sometimes you see dolphins and whales. The bedrooms are spacious with tables & chairs and big custom made closets.


The living space is indoor/outdoor so you feel the breeze at all times but are under cover.


All furnishings are high end with exquisite Koa Wood floors throughout At night we spoil you with high quality bamboo linens.


You have complimentary high speed internet on property. One bedroom can be converted into an office upon request.


Watch the sun & the moon rise and set, shooting stars at night in the 0-gravity lounge chairs or the hot tub or play ping pong, horse shoes or pool games for fun.

There are 2 dogs on property: a super happy and people loving Airedale and a small Chihuahua who's a bundle of love. We also have a shy cat that usually hides from people. 


Halani is close to beaches (5 minutes and up) & some of the main attractions like Volcano, the Temple @City Of Refuge, Painted Church, Kona Coffee tours and more. We can help you with finding surf lessons, horseback rides, manta ray and dolphin swims etc.

This home was clean and the view was amazing. The listing is accurate and the hosts are friendly and hospitable. Our kids had a blast hanging out with their son in the pool one night. As previously mentioned, there is limited privacy, but this unit in a private setting would have been much more expensive. We were concerned about the heat, but all of the rooms have fans and the breeze kept temps pleasant. The pool was amazing and the experience unique. This home was a great deal.

We had a wonderful experience at Halani! We chose this location since it is far away from the crowds of Kona and Hilo. Ariya and Charlie were excellent hosts. We had fruit and coffee waiting for us when we arrived, which added to the personal touch. The view was breathtaking and the sunsets were incredible. We loved the open air concept and feeling the nice breeze at night, listening to nature and the waves. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 and everything we needed was provided in the home. My little one loved Jewels and the geckos. I would definitely recommend this to friends and stay there again myself if we go back to the Big Island!

We loved our stay at Halani! The guest house was perfect and we loved the outdoor kitchen/living area. We loved having our coffee on the rocking chairs on the lanai overlooking the ocean. The pool was inviting and the hot tub was great at night while watching the stars! There are a few beaches right near by and we really liked Pebbles, the black stone beach. Ariya and Charlie were great hosts. We would stay again in a heartbeat!!!

We straddled the weekend between my daughters Spring breaks. We were there mid week to mid week. We were a little further from the ocean than I could tell from the pictures, but had amazing view. My husband got a kick out of the relatively steep the down/up hill drive. We like solitude so enjoyed our stay. The girls fell in love with the dogs, esp Chai. The open concept of the living room concerned my daughters at first, but they quickly adjusted and enjoyed the unobstructed view. Many beaches from Pebble to Black sand to lava rock within 45min to an hour to explore and absorb sun. We had a nice relaxing time, just what was needed.

We stayed a total of 3 nights and the description of home is exactly what you get. For us the only negative was the weather but that’s not on the host. We chose the home mostly due to it’s proximity to Volcano NP plus the view from the hot tub. This view from pool deck can’t be any better. Host, Arita, is very welcoming and shares everything as described of her property. if you are looking for a relaxed stay then this is the place. It’s quite remote but therefore no street traffic. Birds, frogs, wind, and waves is all you hear at night. There are no restaurants close by but place has a wonderful open kitchen and we could have used the grill as well. For swimming and snorkeling there are a few remote beaches close by. We went to one some evening and saw some fishes but missed whales by just a few minutes.
