This beautiful, ground-floor honeymoon condo is just a stone’s throw away from the crystal blue waters of Ma’alaea Bay. This well-maintained, air-conditioned (in living room only), one-bedroom unit has everything you need to make your stay on Maui feel like “home away from home.” The kitchen has full-sized appliances, a breakfast bar, big ocean views, and all the necessities for meal prep. The kitchen flows into the living area which has been tastefully decorated with traditional rattan furniture, vintage Hawaiian surf art, and features a 42” smart-TV with cable, DVD player, and small collection of movies. There is also a wonderful selection of books to browse while staying in this unit. The outdoor lanai has a lovely dining table and is perfect for enjoying dinner or drinks while taking in the incredible panoramic views.

The garden bedroom has a king-sized bed with plush linens and another 39” flat-screen TV with cable. There is a full bathroom with a tub and shower and all the linens for your stay are provided. This unit also features a brand new sofa sleeper with memory foam in living room. There is also a full-sized washer and dryer in the unit as well as beach chairs, a beach umbrella, cooler, pool toys, and beach towels. Guests of Island Sands also have full access to the pool and BBQ area.

Island Sands is within walking distance to Maui Ocean Center Aquarium (rated one of Maui’s top attractions!), five-mile long Sugar Beach, Ma’alaea Harbor, Beach Bum Bar and Grill, and a number of other shops and restaurants. Island Sands also enjoys a smaller number of units making this spot quieter and more private than a lot of the other resort communities in Maui. The condo itself was great. The view was awesome and the house has everything we needed. The comforter on the bed had many stains so we just used a blanket from the closet. Even when the AC was off the thing was running constantly which made the lanai hard to enjoy. The only downside was the people that lived there that came down to the pool and complained about something daily. Not once did I feel that the pool area was loud but someone came down daily and asked others to be quiet. We just told everyone not to use the pool at that point. It wasn’t worth the mean people.

We really loved the place. The beach is technically in the back yard. Everything is well throught through. The host provided every thing we needed for our vacation, from great sets for going to the beach (towel, chair, umbrella, rain coat, etc.) to great guide books about Maui to a fully furnished kitvhen.

The comforter on the bed was stained and dirty. Ugg! The bathroom fan was very dusty Ugg! Only on small roll of toilet paper & paper towels.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Island Sands has a great location no matter where you are exploring on the island. Unit 110 has a spectacular view of the ocean. If you go during whale watching you can see plenty of action right from your patio. The unit had everything we needed while not being overdone. It is a great size for a couple. Management staff (Chelsea) was very responsive to any questions or issues. Would like to see the unit updated some to be a perfect place all around.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very pleased with the the condo overall. It fit our needs exactly as a family of three that includes a very active 15 month-old. The sitting area and lanai have a gorgeous ocean view, especially for sunrise, and it walks right out to a grassy area that is perfect for running around in. There was a small beach down some steps no more than 50 feet off the porch. We even saw some sea turtles on the beach just after sunset one day. We would absolutely come back. The location is great as well--nice to be 15 minutes from the center of both Kihei and Kahului so we had many options to eat within an easy drive.
