This adorable little cabin is situated in the friendly neighborhood of Seaview on the beautiful Puna coast. It is perfect for two people with a queen bed in the loft or a full-sized futon on the screened lanai for those who prefer sleeping in the fresh air. It has a small, but fully equipped indoor kitchen and a gas stove for cooking outside on the lanai. There is a lovely outdoor shower as well as an indoor shower. There is a sun-bathing and star gazing deck over the garage.

There is lots to do and much to enjoy on the Big Island. The cabin is close to Kehena Black Sand Beach, the warm ponds at Pohiki Black Sand Beach, McKenzie State Park, the beautiful drive on the Red Road, and the quaint town of Pahoa which has grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, banks, etc. There is a Farmers Market right down the road on Saturday mornings with fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, tamales, music, and lots of fun. There are many sites to visit near Hilo, including good swimming beaches, many wonderful waterfalls, and great museums and restaurants. You can take a drive to Volcano National Park or go a little further around the island to South Point (the southernmost spot in the US) or to Punalu’u black sand beach to see the giant sea turtles or to Hoaauau-Napoopoo National Park....

We enjoyed our stay. It is located close to the black sand beach and a good middle point to travel south for Volcano and Punalu’u or north to Hilo and Waipio.

I loved all the decoration Barbara did with her property. The ceiling and Lanai murals were inspiring. I love the Koke frogs serenading me to sleep and keeping me asleep all night. The cottage is private and feels very safe. Especially for a solo female traveler. Barbara was quick to respond to any question and was lovely. I would definitely reccomend her magical cottage.

Great stay on the main Island. It’s tucked back in the woods far away from the tourism in Kona, but perfect for Pahoa and Hilo
