The Laughing Gecko, a 100% smoke free property, is located on a one acre lot filled with a variety of tropical fruit trees and is in close proximity to the cliffs and beaches and Volcano Park.

The furnished studio features its own private entrance, kitchenette, bath & lanai.

The following are provided for your use:
*Kitchen appliances (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster), dishes, and silverware
*Bathroom amenities (towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash)
*Beach gear (boards, coolers, chairs, snorkels, etc.)
*Fully furnished and equipped for work/play (queen bed, bedding, table/chairs, desk, smart TV with Chromecast, high speed internet)

You will absolutely enjoy the private lanai which is great for relaxing, drinking your morning coffee or having cocktails and/or candle lit dinner. The view from your lanai is beautiful.

Common carport has washer & dryer for your use (as well as a variety of other amenities such as body boards, snorkel gear, coolers, beach towels, and more). Let us know if you need anything to ensure a great trip!

We are 20 minutes south of Hilo, 10-15 minutes from shops, restaurants, grocery store and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. We are approximately 1/2 mile from the ocean cliffs. Isaac Hale beach park is approximately 20 minutes away. Volcanoes National Park is a 40 minute drive. Kehena Black Sand Beach (clothing optional), where you can sometimes swim with the dolphins, is 25 minutes away. We are 15 minutes from Uncle Robert's farmer's market and the huge Sunday Maku'u market is 10 minutes away.

We are also centrally located for side trips to all other parts of the Big Island.

No smoking in the unit, on the lanai or on property. Damage deposit will automatically be taken away (plus a negative rating and report will be made) if this rule is broken!

The neighborhood is very aloha. The studio ohana is sufficient and comfortable; perfect for a couple. The owners allow for privacy, but are friendly and helpful. We were able to come and go easily to explore the island. The property is well lit with sensor lights for evening arrival, and the access to washer and dryer very handy for travelers.

The unit was clean, bed was comfortable, fans worked well to keep airflow, lanai was private and pleasant and the grounds were very pretty. The owner provided beach accessories- everything was in good condition. The kitchenette for us was limiting as it is designed for just heating up but for a short stay it was nice.
