This sweet 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage with a screened-in lanai near Volcano Village is the perfect, serene setting amongst the hapuu fern forest to recharge your batteries and relax. Under new ownership and management.
Enjoy the sounds of the Upper Puna Hawaiian forest and the cool climate at 3000’ elevation. The native apanane and other Hawaiian birds are about the only things you'll hear at this quiet cottage retreat nestled in the rain forest near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
The cottage features 2 large bedrooms both with king beds, a large bathroom with a custom walk-in shower, a spacious, well-appointed kitchen, formal dining for 6, and a cozy living room with a gas fireplace. There are skylights and big picture windows throughout the home for lots of natural light and views of the hapuu fern and ohia forest outside.
The home, of course, boasts all the modern amenities that are needed today: Cable TV and unlimited high-speed, wireless internet, washer/dryer and more.

Beautiful interior with a Hala-kahiki (pineapple) theme throughout the well appointed house. Other that our personal grocery list everything else was already here. Madam Pele erupted the day before one of our birthdays, what a gift! MUCH cooler than Hilo or Kona which, for us, made life more enjoyable. We could visit around the island, come back here to the restful screened lanai (porch) and the comfortable house and not be hot.
WiFi and TV available and worked well.
On demand water heater was great. We literally have no complaints. Hope to get back here again!

This rental is surround by lush flora in a great location to HI Volcano National Park and an easy drive to Hilo. It was a little smaller than it looks but it was just enough for a family of 4. If I have to nitpick, I am not a big fan of the pink paint color but it was subdued enough to not be a big deal. They have plenty of floor cushions in the bedroom closet to make it more comfortable to relax while watching tv at the end of the day. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of bedding. I would recommend this rental if you want to be close to HI Volcano National Park!
