Aloha and welcome to our, "Makua Honua" (Family Paradise), a beautiful four-bedroom home located in Poipu at Poipu Kai Resort. This newly purchased home offers mālie a mālie, which means peace and quiet in Hawaiian. This home can accommodate up to eight guests including adults, children and toddlers. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac and therefore, no street distracting street noise to interrupt your, ho'omaha (relaxation).
The alluring white plumeria trees welcome you as you upon arrival. Once inside, you will discover the large open floor plan with many windows that let in the golden Hawaiian sun. These windows also open up to allow the cool trade winds to flow through the home so that you may not even need the A/C. The living room is equipped with vaulted ceilings, lots of seating, a large flat-screen TV as well as several cards and board games. There is also a wet bar just in case you would like to enjoy a cocktail or mocktail while playing a game.
In the dining room, which is adjacent to the living room, has seating for ten plus four additional seats at the kitchen counter. There is plenty of seating where you can enjoy great family and friend gatherings. The dining room has a sliding glass door that opens up to a large lanai where you can enjoy outdoor dining and drinks while relishing the lush garden views around you. The lanai also has a gas grill for any grilling needs.
The home is about a five-minute walk from Shipwreck Beach and the Grand Hyatt. At the Grand Hyatt, there are many restaurants where you can sit and ho'omaha (relax) out on the lanai and soak in the ocean view. All you need to do is to walk down the greenbelt, located at the end of the cul-de-sac, and turn left. You can also turn right and take the greenbelt to Poipu Beach and Brennecke's Beach where Brennecke's restaurant is located.
On your way to Poipu Beach, you will see the community pool and the tennis courts. While at Brennecke's Beach don't forget to stop off and eat at Brennecke's and discover its history. If you like to golf, Poipu Bay Golf Club and Kiahuna Golf Club are only minutes away from the house.
If you prefer the pool or workout in a gym, included in your rental cost is access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club where there is a swimming pool with a slide, tennis courts, shuffleboards, basketball courts, pickleball courts, weight room, cardio room, studio for classes and a restaurant. Great location for a getaway! Nestled in a lovely neighborhood setting and just a short walk away to the community pool and to the beach. Restaurants, grocery, and other shopping nearby if needed. Home was very comfortable, and we had no difficulty fitting our family of three adults and three children … plenty of indoor and outdoor space to spread out. Beds were a bit creaky/noisy but were otherwise nice and comfortable. It was clean and well-stocked with essentials (except for a basic First Aid kit or band aides but local pharmacy was close by so no big deal at all). This was our family’s first VRBO experience so we were nervous at first, but when we arrived, all of our nervousness turned into excitement and joy. It was more than we expected, and we had a splendid vacation week. If we had to choose between staying at this home or staying at a resort, we would pick this home hands down!

This home was exactly what we were looking for, when taking our family to Kauai. We were attending a conference at the Grand Hyatt, and the proximity was perfect. Walking distance, and the path to the resort was literally outside our front door. The house itself was spectacular. Spacious, very clean and well appointed. Would absolutely return to this wonderful property.

The house is great, perfect for family or couples. Stayed with 8 people 3 couples and 2 adult children. Great floor plan so everyone has the own space. Location is perfect, walk to amazing beach and close to everything you need. Would definately stay here again.

Is really a great house. Perfect for our family of 7 vacation. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do and everywhere we wanted to go.
Only 2 things from the listing that brought down the rating. There are 2 king beds and a queen, not 3 king beds as advertised. This was a hiccup for our big group. Second kitchen was completely empty and typically there are condiments and/or coffee but there want anything. Not a huge deal but we did cook several nights and had to buy all that and leave it which was pricey for Hawaii.
Otherwise beautiful home and great place to rent for a large group.

We had a great stay here. Everything was as described and we really appreciated the use of the beach gear and extra towels! The only small negative was that the kitchen cabinets could use a deep cleaning, but overall everything was very clean. Would definitely stay here again!

This property is perfect for families and couples! Great location. Short walk to beach and pool. Lots of beach chairs, umbrellas etc in garage. Could use cosmetic updates in some areas but overall clean and spacious. Had some wonderful family time here.

Comfortable for 8 adults. Well stocked with all the beach toys and carts to haul them to the beach. Loved the location close to the Hyatt and beach. Only one small complaint and that is the difficulty putting the twin beds together for the 4th adult couple (they do not fit together because of the headboards)
