    Hawaii> Hana
    • 1 bedroom
    • 1 bathroom
    • Sleeps 2

Here time and nature move to a greater rhythm. Hana is nearby- a little town on the backside of Maui that is just about as far away as one could hope to travel... and still return. When it comes to natural attractions, Hana is blessed above all others. You can visit black, white, and red sand beaches and swim near luxurious waterfalls.

The gardens which surround the property offer a delightful, but seasonal, array of papaya, mango, banana, breadfruit, avocado, ginger, jasmine and plumeria. The organic garden seasonally produces salad mix and fresh herbs.

The cottage has abundant natural light, white walls, white ceilings with fans. Living area has TV / DVD player, lounge chair, couch, and love-seat, as well as wooden dining table - accommodates two, as only a king bed. Cottage has a full kitchen and BBQ. Bathroom with shower / tub combination and washer / dryer.

Great location - fabulous communication from Heidi and she went above and beyond for us when we just HAD to get our hands on a few extra jars of lilikoi butter we bought at the Friday Hana Farmers Market and fell in love with. This place gave us just the perfect amount of privacy and zen and relaxation - we cooked fabulous meals in the kitchen with fresh fish and produce from the Farmers Market. I just want to go back RIGHT NOW and never leave!!!

We spent a week at the Ohana Cottage and we both thank you for this peaceful place to enjoy on our anniversary. We enjoyed visiting with the locals around Hana and also the long walks along the ocean.

Property is ~2 mi south of town so be aware that no shopping is nearby. Hana “shopping” is minimal so, along with a full tank of gas and drinking water, it’s a good idea to have a cooler bag of groceries. Cottage is clean, quiet with fans and screened windows, doors and 2 lanais. Tv and cell service were a bit of a challenge. Bird songs in the mornings were very pleasant.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The fact that we could just walk across the street to the Venus pools was amazing. Watching everyone else struggle just to get to them made the location worth it even more. While everyone was struggling to park we just walked to the end of the driveway and across the street. If you are doing the road to hana it makes it even easier because you can start off in Hana and do it backwards and don't have to deal with much of the touristy traffic. The town itself has everything that you would need. So there's no point in buying a bunch of stuff before you get there. Hamoa beach is just a little over a mile away with so many different colors of sand. Everything was clean and well prepared for our arrival. Also when night hits there isn't much light on this side of the island. So at night there's no noise or annoying light. The best peaceful sleep you could imagine. My wife and I are definitely going back every year until the property isn't available anymore.

We loves our stay at Hanapapalani! Very quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to enjoy all of the things Hana has to offer. Efffei

The place itself is great and would be a perfect place to explore Hana. But there were way too many bugs of all shapes and sizes everywhere (and not nearly enough geckos!) Dozens of mosquito bites just unloading the car. We had to cut our planned stay short after one night. The owner was nice about it.
