    Hawaii> Hana
    • 2 bedroom
    • 1 bathroom
    • Sleeps 2

Here time and nature move to a greater rhythm. Hana is nearby- a little town on the backside of Maui, that is just about as far away as one could hope to travel... and still return. When it comes to natural attractions, Hana is blessed above all others. You can visit black, white, and red sand beaches and swim near, but not in, luxurious waterfalls.

The gardens which surround the property offer seasonally, a delightful array of papaya, mango, banana, breadfruit, avocado, ginger, jasmine and plumeria.

The Whale Watch Suite offers two bedrooms with privacy curtains. The rooms are separated from one another by a full bathroom. The king bedroom faces the tree-lined seasonally running Waiohonu stream, the queen bedroom is in a nook of it's own. The granite bathroom with shower/tub combination and washer/dryer separates the two bedrooms (the second has a queen bed). Ceiling fans in every room provide a gentle breeze, when the trade winds are not blowing. Both bedrooms open through curtains to the living/dining area, where one has access to DVD, TV and WiFi. The dining area is distinguished by a large old English oak dining table, with views of the vegetable garden, which may be offering a harvest, available to enjoy during your visit.

Above the Whale Watch Suite, discover the Tower, a 360° view, where the sea calls you to its feet and distant mountains vanish into clouds. Whales can be seen breaching offshore, during their winter breeding season. Take your morning beverage up to the perch, and watch the sunrise over the ocean, as you relax on the two lounge chairs.

A screened porch off the living/dining area encompasses a wet bar with an under-counter refrigerator, sink, and several small kitchen appliances. A BBQ is available.

pictures don't do this Hana gem justice. Clean and well-stocked it is, but also spacious with high ceilings, and open with so many rooms that I regularly lost my husband. As a regular vacation rental user, Sybil's magical place has many above and beyond special touches: from the unique nobs on the cabinets in the airy 'food prep' section, to the shampoo and soap, from the handcrafted bedspreads (do not put luggage on these beauties) to the elegant thick towels. Perhaps no surprise, since Sybil is an amazing artist, paying attention to beauty and details - including her own artwork in the rooms. Thank you for an awesome place, a peaceful immersed-in-the jungle experience and the altogether good vibes. Oh and the coffee: best ever on an Island with great coffee. This'll be our go-to next visit. Mahalo!

We were so taken with our Hana stay! Second floor, screened in slice of heaven. Easy walk to Venus pool. We found our host to be delightful and very helpful. We definitely would enjoy staying with Sybil again in the future!

We started our two-week vacation here for several days, intending to revisit some of the sites we've been to and loved in the past. In truth, it was so peaceful here, we hated leaving and only did half of outings we had planned. Sybil was a lovely host. Her house is adjacent to the unit, but she was almost invisible unless we had a question. Frankly, visiting with her was one of the perks of staying there. And Aina was super helpful in advance. We will be back, and next time we'll stay longer.

Sybil was a great host very attentive. And on top of things. We had a bit of a problem with some bugs and I was disappointed I had to remedy the problem myself, but it was a pretty easy fix, just some natural bug spray. I guess it's all part of the adventure. Lost a few nights of sleep but there was plenty of beach sleeping during the day. Over all a magical place to stay.

My husband and I went for our 15/16/17 year anniversary and it was awesome! We loved how it was tucked away in the trees and a bit past Hana town center. The only thing I’d like to pass on is that Hana is a very quiet place. And everyone seems to even speak quietly. The doors were all open to let the air in and sound travels. As a thriving couple, we just felt the need to be extra quiet! 😉

Beautiful property! We loved seeing the Venus Pools and trying local Coca from Robert! Such a great experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

The property is very nice and accurate to the description. We perhaps did not do enough research and were surprised by the amount of mosquitos. Unfortunately, the porches were not very usable without getting many bug bites, despite burning citronella and wearing bug spray. Hana was nice, but if you are active, the pace may be a bit slow for you as it was for us.
