Here time and nature move to a greater rhythm. Hana is nearby- a little town on the backside of Maui, that is just about as far away as one could hope to travel... and still return. When it comes to natural attractions, Hana is blessed above all others. You can visit black, white, and red sand beaches and swim near, but not in, luxurious waterfalls.

The gardens which surround the property offer seasonally, a delightful array of papaya, mango, banana, breadfruit, avocado, ginger, jasmine and plumeria.

Sliding glass doors provide natural lighting in the king bedroom, which faces the tree-lined seasonal stream. The marble bathroom with shower/tub combination and washer/dryer separates the two bedrooms (the second has a queen bed). Ceiling fans in every room provide a gentle breeze, when the trade winds are not blowing. Both bedrooms open through curtains to the living/dining area, where one has access to DVD, TV and WiFi. The dining area is distinguished by a large old English oak dining table, with views of the vegetable garden, which may be offering a harvest, available to enjoy during your visit.

Above the Whale Watch Suite, discover the Tower, a 360° view, where the sea calls you to its feet and distant mountains vanish into clouds. Whales can be seen breaching offshore, during their winter breeding season. Take your morning beverage up to the perch, and watch the sunrise over the ocean, as you relax on the two lounge chairs.

A screened porch off the living/dining area encompasses a wet bar with an under-counter refrigerator, sink, and several small kitchen appliances. A BBQ is available.

My husband and I went for our 15/16/17 year anniversary and it was awesome! We loved how it was tucked away in the trees and a bit past Hana town center. The only thing I’d like to pass on is that Hana is a very quiet place. And everyone seems to even speak quietly. The doors were all open to let the air in and sound travels. As a thriving couple, we just felt the need to be extra quiet! 😉

Beautiful property! We loved seeing the Venus Pools and trying local Coca from Robert! Such a great experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

The property is very nice and accurate to the description. We perhaps did not do enough research and were surprised by the amount of mosquitos. Unfortunately, the porches were not very usable without getting many bug bites, despite burning citronella and wearing bug spray. Hana was nice, but if you are active, the pace may be a bit slow for you as it was for us.

The Whale Watch Suite at the Hanapapalani property was the little piece of heaven we were hoping to find for our 50th Anniversary trip. Miracles do happen. It was unique and lovely in every way. We became immersed in the natural tropical environment, and this place was spotless. Sybil is so very kind, caring, creative and artistic, and welcomed us with open arms. Her generosity was unsurpassed! Mahalo to Sybil and Tracy for our most relaxing 5 night stay at Hanapapalani!! We would definitely love to return!
