The property is a 6 room motel built in a u-shaped design. Each room has a separate entry and lanai with table and chairs looking out to the forest. As you enter the forested driveway that leads you to the house, you will know you are someplace very special. The entry gates open to the courtyard with a 6 person hot tub in the center. Each room has Batik bird of paradise bedspreads and matching chairs on the lanais. Each room has a coffee maker , coffee and tea, mini fridge and microwave. We normally supply coconut milk and blueberry granola also....

Enjoyed the muffins and yogurt for breakfast. Only problem was the fridge was set too cold and we had frozen yogurt!

John and Joy are amazing hosts from welcoming us to their property, providing a lovely breakfast of muffins, fruit and yogurt and checking in with us periodically to see if we needed anything else. The location is perfect in proximity to Volcanoes National Park. The private patio is lovely and you are truly in the rainforest. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The Jade Oasis was a perfect home base for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes NP. It is just a couple of miles from the entrance, and not too far from Hilo either! John and Joy have created very comfortable accommodations with a lot of personal touches - fresh fruit and muffins, a hot tub perfect after a long day of hiking, a comfortable bed, and a nice patio. We loved the peace and tranquility of the location and enjoyed listening to the sounds of the surrounding forest as we slept. Highly recommend!
