Hula Hale is a lovely and spacious home which has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The complete new and modern kitchen has granite counters and a granite bar. There are hard wood floors throughout and the comfortable great room looking out at the mountains and jungle. There is a large deck that wraps around half of the house with lounge chairs where you can soak up the sun in the peace and quiet of the tropical surroundings. There are two tables with chairs and umbrellas where you can enjoy your breakfast to the sound of the many song birds in the jungle.

There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and two double beds in the second bedroom. There is a tub and shower in one bathroom and a shower in the other. There is cable tv, phone, wireless internet access, DVD player, CD player/radio, gas BBQ, and some beach gear is available. It can sleep up to 6 people, but is better with only 4. It is not suitable for children under 7 years.

The home is a short three minute walk to a white sandy beach with great snorkeling and swimming. Hula Hale is located on a side dirt road, not on the main highway. Across the dirt road is a large pasture with horses and cows and the mountains and jungle.

There is a large grassy yard which gives it plenty of privacy. There is a steep staircase going up to the house. It may not be suitable for older adults and it is not suitable for children 5 and under. For the safety of the guests, there are cameras on the outside of the house and in the yard. There are none inside the house. Being on a side dirt road it does not have any road noise from the main highway. It is only about 2 miles before the Na Pali Coast hiking trail where you can do easy day hikes, or go all the 12 miles to Kalalau Valley. There is a small coffee cafe and a restaurant just a 3 minute stroll away.

The eclectic town of Hanalei has a variety of restaurants and shops, a grocery store and a great natural foods store with a wide selection of organic produce. There is great surfing for all levels, from total beginner to the expert professional. Just up the hill, a 5 minute drive past Hanalei in Princeville is more shops, restaurants and another grocery ...

The house is located in a very quiet and private location with lovely unobstructed views of the mountain. You could tell that this was a very seasoned rental home that accommodated us with every possible need that we had and was meticulously clean and tidy. The beach at the end of the street was great for a quick dip and tunnels beach was a quick drive for the more adventurous. The drive to Hanalei bay was quite enjoyable. Perfect to get away from it all.

This is a mixed review. There is much to like about this home and location. Beach access was great. The close-by Hanalei Colony Resort provided access to restaurant meals and the shuttle that runs to Hā’ena Park. We loved our visit to the nearby Limahuli Garden & Preserve. My son and I snorkeled daily, sometimes twice, at Tunnels Beach. The home itself is lovely, and well-designed. The two bed/bath areas are on opposite ends of the house—nicely private. The house is packed with interesting furnishings: beautiful old surf boards & grass skirts & art pieces on the walls. The garden is beautiful. It was a quiet neighborhood. Considerations: Unreliable clothes washer & dryer. Had to un-plug/reset several times each use. No kitchen towels—had to use a bathroom face towel. No facial tissue supplied in bathrooms. (Seems picky, but we’ve never stayed in a place without these basics.) Except for kitchen counters, there were no empty horizontal surfaces. All tables (side, dining, nightstands, etc.) were full of interesting decorative items (candles, jars of shells, etc). We had to move them all aside before we could sit down to a meal together or have a flat work surface. Felt awkward, not knowing how valuable the items were. One sliding glass door off bedroom would not lock, no way to secure in spite of thre request to always lock up home when not present. Appreciated your note to feed the fish on the lanai. But please advise guests about the ones down in the yard.

our stay at hula hale was fantastic. the house was beautifully decorated and well stocked with anything you needed. the proximity to beautiful beaches on the north shore was a plus. we rented bicycles from the bike doktor which helped with the limited parking access to many of the beaches. highly recommend a boat tour of the napali coast also. everything was just stunning.
