The house was great for our stay and comfortably fit 5 people. Location was great - directly overlooking the ocean, and a very short walk to the beach two houses away.
Only negatives were that there's air conditioning only in the bedrooms - the living area, dining area, and kitchen were uncomfortable when it was ~85F outside; the ocean breeze was too warm and very humid and didn't do anything to cool down the house, so it was uncomfortably warm and humid except for when you were in one of the bedrooms. Also, it would be nice to have more supplies - there was only 1 roll of paper towels, only 1 box of tissues, and only 1 spare toilet paper roll; all of which ran out and was nowhere near sufficient for a 7-night stay.

My family (ages 4 to 76) very much enjoyed our stay at this house. The location was ideal for getting away from the crowds and the yard provided ample opportunities to relax and take in the beautiful views. We enjoyed beach walks at sunrise and at times the water was calm enough for even our 7 year old to go snorkeling off the back steps. The house was very clean and fit our family of 6 comfortably. There are a few easy fixes needed, from light bulbs being out to the tacky couch cover, but nothing very impactful to our stay. I would definitely stay here again!

We cannot emphasize enough how much we loved staying right on the water in Hauula. The house was perfect for our family of four (me, da wife, and two teenage keikis). While the kids were very happy to have their own room, we can easily imagine two more folks being comfortably added to the mix. The ac units and ceiling fans in the bedrooms were fantastic and the beds were super comfortable. The big kitchen was so great, and stocked with whatever we needed including coffee machine and rice cooker…the two must haves for this fam. The big living room area was nice to have too but we really didn’t spend much time in there. Most of our time was spent in the back yard either watching some of the most spectacular sunrises you will ever see, or stargazing all while listening to the waves gently roll in and roll out.
I have a lot of family in Oahu so it isn’t new to us, but this is the first time we have stayed in the Hauula area and we felt right at home. Loved the slower country vibe far away from the hustle of Honolulu. We spent a good amount of time in nearby Laie, Hukilau Beach was the first beach we hit up the day we landed and we ended up back there several times. Kahuku, where we did zip lining and had some great meals, is also not too far from Haaula, and in the other direction, Kualoa ranch was another excursion that was epic for us.
Again, we loved everything about our stay in Hauula and we hope to stay at this beautiful house again sometime soon.

Everything was great for us! Check in/out was easy. Having the ocean right at the back door was awesome! If we ever get to come back we would definitely stay again!

This home is gorgeous, but the view from the backyard is the true selling point. The ocean’s waves literally crash against the wall in the backyard. The ocean that meets this property is really not ideal for swimming or lounging, but it is spectacular for the views. There are four lounge chairs in the backyard and you can work on your tan while listening to the crashing waves.
The house was extremely clean and stocked with anything you could possibly need, including beach towels, plenty of cooking equipment, and even snorkel gear. My only complaint with the house is that it was very hot. Pay careful attention to the description in the listing. As stated, each bedroom Has an air conditioning unit, and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The remainder of the house is not air-conditioned and the doors leading to the backyard have no drapes to shield the sun. It gets very toasty inside the house in the afternoon. We tried to open the doors leading to the back to let some breeze pass through, but it did not help much. When we got too hot, we would retreat to one of the bedrooms or go outside and enjoy the beach breeze.
The location on Oahu is also perfect. It is only a few miles away from a grocery store and a few restaurants, as well as the Polynesian Cultural Center. Most of the other attractions seemed to be only a 30-45 minute drive.
The property manager addressed any issues that we had extremely quickly. Overall, we loved this property!

We had a wonderful stay. Accommodated our group of 5 including a 4 year old comfortably. She absolutely loved the sand box in back! We loved the views and especially the proximity to beautiful beaches, excursions, and amazing food trucks. Plenty of space for everyone, large kitchen, washer/dryer, beach towels & beach toys were awesome! The only drawback would be for light sleepers- the sound/lights of the highway in the front bedroom and the sound of the waves crashing in the back bedroom could be bothersome, but we made the best of it! Would definitely stay on this side of the island over the crowded Waikiki hotel zone. Hope to be back soon!

Overall the property was nice. The main road is right out side the back bedroom and is quite noisy. There were earplugs readily available, however I dont like anything in my ears. The entrance porch needed the hand railings secured and a hand railings for the stairs leading to the yard would have been nice. But, couldn't have asked for a better view of the ocean and sunrises. Thanks again.

Water leaks, electrical problems, non functioning room AC, ants, road noise and missing keys. I would not stay here again. The gentleman who helped us, Lance, was extremely accommodating and responded to our MANY issues with this property. Access to the beach was three houses down. Sunrises were lovely, however not worth the $6k to stay at this location.

The property was everything and more that the listing stated. Spacious, clean home, wonderful kitchen to work in, fabulous view, beautiful sunrises, and a great beach just a couple minutes walk from rental house. The yards around the rental home were well kept along with the house itself. Location of this rental home was ideal! We loved that side of the island and the Northshore beaches, lookouts, etc. Parking space was plenty for our rental van.

Beautiful oceanfront stay away from busier parts of the island. We had four adults and one infant, with plenty of room in the house for everyone. Grass yard overlooking the ocean was wonderful. 10-minute drive to great food trucks and house fully equipped to cook meals at home some nights. Close enough to Turtle Bay to visit for day trips. Perfect getaway for a non-resort experience.

Awesome location with gorgeous view of the sunrise. House has toys, sandbox in partially enclosed backyard, and boogie boards- my 3 year old was always entertained.
Photos of backyard were a little misleading- property does not have beach access, just backyard with retaining wall that the waves crash into. Still provided a fantastic view!

Short family gathering from around the country to thaw out. Great location on the water about 45 minutes from airport on NE side of Oahu. Exactly what we were looking for, plenty to do in the area, great house for the 6 of us. We’ll be back!

The location was great, right on the ocean, sea turtles seen from the dining room table. Great snorkeling right outside the house. However, the pictures are misleading, much of the house is outdated and worn out. Beds, chairs and couch were uncomfortable. Hard to contact host and rules were confusing. Check in was at 3 but cleaners were there until after 330.

The property was a great place to stay for our family. Lots of room. Easy beach access. Comfortable. Breath taking views. All amenities listed were included except hot tub but not a problem for us. House definitely shows it’s number of rental use (not like pics) but it’s expected wear & tear for VRBO with ocean frontage, I.e. floor in front of sliding glass doors faded, sliding glass doors don’t lock but has an alternative secure locking measure . The freezer’s handle was not there. Looked as if it had been broken off. The property provided plenty of beach accessories such as chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkeling masks & fins. We definitely enjoyed our stay & would stay again.
