Alii Kai 11B is an island-style retreat that gets tons of natural light, has plenty of space for the whole family, and feels as comfortable and welcoming as your own home! Located in the heart of the North Shore, this ground floor charmer has two cozy bedrooms, two bathrooms, a bright and open living and dining space, and a fully appointed kitchen. There's also a large private lanai with gorgeous mountain views, peekaboo ocean views, and a grassy yard space that's perfect for letting kids run around. The nene (Hawaiian geese) are fond of the yard as well, so you'll often get to watch a family of nene go parading past the lanai!
You'll find yourself in the perfect jumping off point for exploring the island at Alii Kai 11 B. Anini Beach is just 15 minutes away, and has crystal clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling! You might also catch a glimpse of a Hawaiian green sea turtle while you're there. Hanalei Bay is also just 10 minutes away, and has beautiful golden sand beaches with calm waters perfect for all ages of swimmers. The charming Hanalei town is right nearby, and has a variety of boutiques and delicious restaurants and cafes for all your shopping and dining needs. Hideaways Beach is just a mile away from Alii Kai, and if you're able to brave the steep path you'll be rewarded with a secluded and shady beach experience that feels like your own slice of paradise. The snorkeling isn't half bad either! If you want a break from the crowds, we recommend heading to Kilauea, just 20 minutes down the road, to check out the iconic lighthouse and wildlife preserve. Or, if you prefer sticking a bit closer to home, the Princeville shopping center is just a mile away, and has plenty of options for shopping and grabbing tasty bites, as well as the Foodland grocery store for even more convenience! The nationally ranked Makai golf course is also just a 10 minute walk away from your front door, and has some of the best golfing in the country.
If you prefer less running around on vacation and more time relaxing, the Alii Kai complex is perfectly suited for a chilled out staycation! The complex has a large heated pool, jacuzzi, and shallow wading pool that's great for children, as well as plenty of sun loungers and shaded clubhouse seating. There are also gas grills on site if you want to spend the day grilling out and enjoying the beautiful weather, or you can take a stroll around the beautifully landscaped grounds. situated right on the rocky bluffs, and enjoy some stellar ocean views!
Looking to explore other parts of the island? Drive time to the South Shore is roughly 75 minutes, and to the East Side (where the airport is located) is 55 minutes.
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned, however there are fans in every room and screen doors on the lanai to help with airflow.

Place is "dated" but located in a nice area. Our electricity turned off in the unit on our 2nd day and we needed to reset the wifi, but we were out of the unit when customer service hours were open so we never got to reset it. There's no AC, but it was cool in the evenings. There was a washer and dryer, detergent was provided. There was an airbed provided for the 5th person to sleep on, but was constantly deflating. There were 2 bathrooms which was the main draw for me. Communication before, during and after the stay was good. When calling customer service, they were responsive and called back if they missed a call.

We loved this adorable condo! The view from the lanai was amazing with beautiful foliage and the mountains in the background on one side, and the ocean on the other. The condo is a little outdated but that is what added to its charm and made it feel authentic. The community is well taken care of and the pool is just steps away, and you can walk down the street to the cliffs to watch the sunrise and sunsets. We will be back :)

Finding in the dark was a challenge. The unit was very clean with lots of towels. One dining room chair was badly cracked and unsafe. Peeling wall paper very noticeable in kitchen The bath tub was slippery, the strips on the tub were worn off. The front of the cabinet in kitchen was splintered in bad shape. Dining room light was out. no light out side front door and it was really needed. Sparse kitchen wear no plastic glasses etc. stove and oven worked but looked bad. Couldn't get Tv to work. Cd's were all empty. No paper or pens or paper available. The wall mounted mirrors in bathroom and dining area are corroded underneath. The bed was very comfortable. We would not rent this unit again. I wish I had been aware of it's flaws. The pictures didn't show any of it. It's a shame it's like this. It's beyond me why an owner wouldn't care for this unit better. fixing what was wrong would last a long time and give visitors an experience they expected. We still had a great time outside of the condo. See the pretty table picture? No table cloth,plastic glasses,candles monkey or candles. You need plastic glasses in the pool area. The view was nice

The repairs were DIY at best, furniture was beat up, lightbulbs missing and the place needs a deep clean and general attention. Good things: the management company was well-organized, communicative, and responsive; the place was clean, and the location beautiful: a really nice view from the lanai of a wooded little valley and the ocean. Less great things: the condo is old and has seen better days, the ceiling is thin so you get to know your upstairs neighbors a lot better than you probably want, the condo is positioned so that the sun makes half the place really hot in afternoons, the lanai is tiny and has no vegetation for privacy and is unusable from the early afternoon on because of the angle of the sun.
This is the fourth VRBO place that I've stayed in Princeville, and by far the poorest value for money in terms of size and comfort. It was OK, but I won't be coming back.

The pool and bbq area were very convenient and clean. The rental unit was very clean but needed an update, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. Past rentals I have experienced in the same area over the past 6 years were updated which made the visit more enjoyable. The photo's on the VRBO website were a bit misleading.
