This property is very welcoming and pleasant. It was clean and well stocked with cooking supplies bath towels and linens.
We had a couple minor issues but they were taken care of quickly.
1st was that we had not received the entry code prior to arrival. When I called, the agent supplied us with the code and we were inside within minutes.
2nd The coffee pot did not work but i emailed them and had a brand new coffeemaker within a couple hours.
The only recommendation i would like to make is replace the futon mattress in the loft as it is not very comfortable
We were very pleased with this property and the management. We will recommend it to friends

One of the nicest places we stayed in Princeville would definitely do this again the home was beautiful all done and take it just absolutely gorgeous

This house is in a great location, however the house itself needs work. The door for one of the bedrooms was broken. All doors are sliding doors, with no privacy. The bed for master was very uncomfortable.
The toilet flush handle keeps unattaching. Carpet with many stains.
However, the service and location was impeccable. Overall, we loved our stay, just wish it was more comfortable.

The house is in a great area. However, the carpet is dirty and torn. The living room furniture is very uncomfortable. Dirty windows and mismatched dishes made it feel like student housing. We were disappointed.

The space worked well for us physically. 3 good sized bedrooms with queen or larger beds. Plenty of kitchen items for all our cooking needs (needs a can opener though). It was clean, lots of towels for bathrooms and for beach. Though dimmers are nice, and CFL and LED are low energy, they cause high dirty electricity that affects sleep by causing low to medium anxiety in the body (last thing you want in Kauai). All 4 of us had sleep challenges. My stetzer meter showed 200+ on all outlets, preferred under 50 and best under 30. Internet wifi was easy to unplug to improve sleeping, better to off the router that lets you push a putting to turn off wifi but leave ethernet physical connections working. Also, mold on the main room large window pull down shade (right side), in the bathrooms around the windows and above the shower, and the skylights upstairs, not to mention the slab foundation made for a noticeable black mold smell, not expected in a golf course house. Beds were comfy. Beach amenities were slim, we left a new umbrella for others. The back corner of roof has ferns growing out of it and the sliding screen doors were really a mess to open and close. TV worked fine, books were interesting, koa kitchen table beautiful, but the top of one of the chairs came right off. I mentioned these details so they might be fixed for the next occupants. The house was once nice, but it is being rented down without proper maintenance. Oh, the master toilet plugged up 3 times, thankfully a plunger was there! All these little things add up making the experience less then hoped.

I wanted to take a moment to provide some honest feedback about our recent stay at Kale Kamalani in Princeville.
First, we had a fantastic time in the north side of Kauai while visiting Princeville. Hanalei Bay and Queen’s Bath were two of our favorite locations during our stay. The house is very large and the five of us stayed very comfortable. If needed, the home could fit 8 people easily. The location of the home is great. 10-15 minutes to Hanalei, and 10-15 to some of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Also, taking a trip down to Kapaa is certainly not out of the question. Another positive to the stay was the reservation process. Checking in and checking out was such a breeze without any issues whatsoever.
That being said, there were a number of things that did turn us off to the home. When we first walked in, there was a terrible musty smell throughout that was impossible to ignore. After opening the windows and turning on the fans for a day, it began to get better but it always had a damp smell and feeling to it. What was worse was that the sheets on the beds were not sleepable. As we layed down to sleep, the musty smell of the sheets caused us to do a load of laundry before sleeping on them because it was that bad. Although geckos and cockroaches are prominent in homes on the island, they are something you never like to see and unfortunately we did encounter both of these in the home several times.
Some recommendations we have would be to allow the home to air out and be cleaned immediately prior to a stay...especially the linens. Also, having a door installed in the master bedroom would be appreciated.
As stated, we had a great time during our stay on the island and definitely plan to come back. The price of the reservation was more than ideal for such a large home in a convenient location. Taking action on some of our recommendations will certainly drive for repeat customers
