Ulua Beach is one of the beaches in the Wailea resort complex development on Maui's south shore. The sandy beach is located between two rocky points.

Ulua Beach is a bit more popular than neighboring Mokapu Beach, with which it shares a parking lot. When the surf is up, it is usually a little higher here than at other beaches in this area, attracting many bodyboarders who enjoy the waves.

During calm days, the snorkeling and diving here is excellent. There are many colorful corals and fish. Ulua means "adult crevalle fish" in the Hawaiian language.

I have always found a parking spot at 7:00am. This is my families starting point for a daily two mile paved beach walk along the manicured grounds of Waileas finest hotels. There's a Starbucks hut at about the 1/2 mile mark. I get a mocha and take in the view while the girls continue their jog/walk. There are also a couple of those $0.25 telescopes along the way.

Beautiful beach with no high rise hotels in sight, good views of neighboring islands, unusual in that it has snorkeling with tropical fish and living coral along one side and sandy swimming beach in middle of cove. ,

Ulua Beach is located on Ulua Beach Road in Wailea, HI 96753, on Maui's south shore. Ulua Beach and the neighboring beach share a parking lot on Ulua Beach Road. From the parking lot, walk down the access path; Ulua Beach is on the left. The lot fills quickly, so arriving early is recommended.
