Tree Tunnel Road, officially Maluhia Road, is Kauai's leafy south-shore gateway to Koloa and Poipu, with a eucalyptus canopy, soft filtered light and easy access to beaches, gardens and resort areas.
The main access road to the Koloa/Poipu region on Kauai's south shore is Maluhia Road, but most people call it Tree Tunnel Road because the trees alongside this 3-mile (4.8 km) long road form a tunnel. Planted a century ago, these eucalyptus trees are beautiful and make for a nice welcome to the south shore.

The road leads toward Koloa and Poipu, two popular south Kauai areas known for historic plantation-town character, beaches, dining, shops and vacation rentals.
Check current road work, weather and traffic conditions before going. The route is usually easy to drive, but lane work, wet pavement or busy south-shore traffic can slow travel.
