Wonderful.One disappointing aspect was the lack of paper towels, napkins and a simple sponge or brush to clean plates or pans. These basics are provided in every property we have stayed.
Beautiful updated peaceful property with spectacular views. We could hear the ocean waves and feel the breeze with the large sliding glass doors open to the large lanai. The lanai is partially covered so we could even have our morning coffee outside when it was raining. Close to all the North shore beaches including tunnels beach which we saw turtles in the surf everyday on our walks. The home has modern appliances, kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable beds. ,

The house has a perfect beachfront access and beautiful views from the front yard and Lanai. Beds are comfy on the Medium Firm side. A/C in both rooms makes it very comfy. There was a lot of spices and oils in the cabinet, check before you shop. Great Check in/Out process and responsive managers! Mahalo!

Nice airy house in perfect location. Lots of good things. Kettle,toaster,Airfryer,oven,cooktop,gas BBQ grill. Main bedroom is lovely. Second bedroom is a big disappointment. We were 2. But if there had been another couple there would be a short straw. Gloomy and Smells musty and is uninviting due to washer being in there. No teaspoons and only 2 decent wine glasses. Also dishwasher out of use.

The kitchen also had basic spices and olive oil. I'm not sure how long they will last, but a trip to Hanalei, where the market is located, was part of our daily routine.
The two master suites with king beds were a nice feature for two couples traveling together. One has an ocean view, and the other is quieter and has less light. The non-ocean view room has a nicer shower.
Finally, the Sonos sound system throughout the home was a nice touch. It was nice to hear some island music during our stay. The property also has Apple TVs in each room, but we did not need them.

This is a beautiful home in the pacific beachfront. The home was pristine and well cared for. We spent many hours on the lanai enjoying cool breezes and enjoying the beautiful view. The house is about 20 minutes from the nearest town and tucked away from the main road. It is very easy easy to get to and from shopping and restaurants.
This house has it all. Location on one of the best strips of beach and reef around, great layout, all the amenities, and great communication from the property managers. We will be back for a third time soon!!

The home was in a great location, very close to nice beaches. Home is well laid out and plenty of space for our family of four. The oven was not working and the property management brought over a air fryer/toaster oven that worked in it's place. Kitchen cabinets could use some TLC but other than those things it was as advertised and a great home. On the right side of the home it is on a path to the beach that sees alot of foot traffic so be advised if you were looking for privacy. There are nice restaurants a few miles away and a fish market if you want to cook. Just a great relaxing stay! Mahalo!
My wife and I stayed here for a week and absolutely loved the home and the location. The home has direct access to a beautiful sand beach. It’s about a half mile walk either on the beach or the road to tunnels for snorkeling. We visited in the middle of May, and the beach directly behind the house would not be a good swimming beach for children. It might be calmer in the summer but tunnels and Anini beach are better choices for kids. ( Anini beach has better parking than tunnels). Justin the manager was great with dealing with any issues we had.
Overall the home and the general area is a great place to just relax and get away from the traffic and busyness of other parts of the island. It is about an hour drive to Lihue so you’ll need to plan any island activities accordingly.

Makana Akua is a quiet, well maintained, comfortable home on the beach within walking distance of Tunnels. The house is exactly as it is represented in the photos. We loved the neighborhood and the overall location. Hawaii Life provided good service, and communication with our island host, Justin was great. We'll be back for longer next time. It would have been nice to have had portable loungers to set up on the lawn in that gorgeous, shady backyard. Thank you!

We loved staying on the North Shore! Tunnels Beach is our absolute favorite place on earth! This home has an unbelievable view. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai each morning overlooking paradise! I do think some things in the home could use a little refresh, ie. the master shower and kitchen cabinets, but that didn’t change what a wonderful stay we had. The oven wasn’t working either, but I was able to work around that with the stove and toaster available. Overall, I still give this home 5 stars because of the view, the location, the lanai, and layout of the home. The host was very responsive as well! Would love to stay again next time we visit the island.

We spent a beautiful and relaxing week at this beautiful home on the North Shore. We came as a couple and spent a portion of the week with friends who also were wowed by the comfortable home and beautiful ocean view from the back deck. We enjoyed both going out to dinner in Hanalei, but ended up cooking and eating at "home" more than we have ever done on vacation, because it was so much fun to hang out at the house. While we were visiting the weather was perfect, but the ocean was rough (all over the North Shore), so we ended up exploring and swimming at safer spots. We plan to come back in spring or summer so that we can swim right outside the house.

Absolutely lovely, spacious, private property on the north shore of Kauai! Our family of four loved our stay. If we ever decide to build a beach home, this is the home we would build. The space is great. Tons of natural light. Direct access to a quiet beach. Close to the Nepali range and a. short drive from the cute town of Hanalei Bay. Can't imagine a better place to stay.
Excellent location if looking for solitude. Hiking, beach going and small town of Hanalei a 10 minute drive. Two nice master bedrooms and a beautiful functional covered deck on the ocean.

Everything was perfect! The home was very clean. The linens were very very nice quality! The beds were very comfortable. The AC in the bedrooms was Huge! Most wonderful - the lenai. The covered table area made it perfect 100% of the time. The Sonos sound system and smart TVs are great!!! We could take the small path to the beach anytime and enjoy essentially our own private beach and snorkeling area. Sheer wonderfulness. Quiet, clean and completely relaxing. We will be back!!! Thank you!!!
