This vacation was a 10 out of 10 and mostly due to this home! (Minus being evacuated for a tsunami for a night!) Everything was exactly as advertised, but the experience once we were there was better than expected! Arrival and check-in was super easy and not having to deal with keys was awesome! The interior was perfectly cleaned and ready for our arrival. The welcome basket and hand written note were lovely! I’m a sleep snobso I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the primary bed was! Confession: we did bring our own pillows, but after seeing the pillow selection, I don’t think we needed to. The sheets were super cozy and our big kids slept great in both of the other bedrooms and loved having their own bathrooms! We cooked dinner at home every night! Only thing we didn’t find was a cocktail shaker, but literally everything else you could want! Felt like we were at home! Small problem w/ants around the sink, but there was some ant spray we used a couple times, no biggie. We spent every night on the lanai! Use the citronella candles that are there! If you are prone to mosquito bites, use the bug spray! I got hit pretty hard! No AC wasn’t a huge deal. It was hot when u used the oven, but u just eat outside on the lanai. The bedroom fans worked great! The roosters weren’t an issue for us. Tons of chairs, towels, boogie/surf boards. You can play music thru the TV with Apple TV. Midweek cleaning is great! Talia was super responsive and helpful! Amazing home!
This was a wonderful family beach house. Well stocked with beach gear, including towels, chairs, boogie boards, surf boards, etc. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook meals every night. But the real kicker is the location, location, location. Adjacent to one of the best beaches in Hawaii, who could ask for more?
Pine Tree Villa is an oasis on one of the most beautiful beaches on the world. The immediate access to the beach through the backyard gate is priceless. Every beach amenity you could need is provided for endless beach fun. The layout is ideal for 3 couples but there is ample room for 4. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining room and upper lanai provide 180 degree beach views.Although no AC, the ceiling fans and oscillating fans render the sleeping environment sufficiently cool for those who just don't like it hot (like me! I slept very well). Highest compliment I can give is to note that I look forward to staying there again.

We’ve been to the house before and love the location of the house. We were close to beach and able to watch surfers, and Ching Young Village is close. The house has beach umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, and surf boards. The only critique would be that they could use some new beach chairs. We still used the ones they had which are starting to show some wear and tear. There is no A/C, but ocean breeze and the ceiling fans worked well to keep us cool. There was a welcome fruit basket and snacks which was nice touch. I also love the midweek clean. We’ve stayed at this house a few times over the years and love coming back.
We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Hanalei. We’ve been to the north shore many times and this location was 5-star. Views are spectacular, and the beach is literally right outside your door. We were worried about not having A/C, but closed the windows during the day to keep in cool air, and the ocean breeze/evening showers cooled off for comfortable sleeping at night. Our kids enjoyed playing in the yard, making use of games/puzzles and beach chairs/boogie boards. Talia was very responsive if we need anything or had questions, and the midweek cleaning was a pleasant amenity. We rented bikes from a local shop which made it quick and easy to get to the pier, shaved ice, etc. Walks to the same along the beach were also easy/enjoyable. If we have any constructive feedback it is to perhaps update some of the beach chairs and patio furniture. While we had enough seats at the outdoor table the quality wasn’t in line with the price paid for the beautiful home. Everything else was wonderful. We’d definitely stay again!
Loved the location to the beach. Lots of beach toys for the kids. Could use more coffee cups and plates. Beds were comfortable. The mid week cleaning service was nice.
Spotless house, perfect location. Surf break in front of the house on many days was great for beginners, and super fun to watch the locals teach their very young kids how to surf. Dinners on the upstairs porch overlooking the bay were fantastic. The house is stocked better than any rental we have stayed in- every beach item you might possibly need including surf boards, and a kitchen that you can really cook in. If we come back to Hanalei Bay, we will stay here again!
I have stayed at numerous oceanfront properties in Hanalei, but this place is very special. This an amazing property with a huge yard suitable for entertaining. The patio view is unmatched. The home has fantastic finished, and all of the amenities you need for a great vacation.

The location couldn't be a better North Shore location. We had a total of 6 people and it was more than enough room for us. The place was very clean upon arrival and the management was great to deal with.
It's hard to imagine a better location, this house is just steps to the beach. It has everything you need for a family trip. Check in and communication with the host was a breeze. Highly recommended!

This beachfront home has a gorgeous view and a well thought out floor plan. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and the town of Hanalei. Our only issue was noise. The access road to the parking lot in front of the house is gravel as well as the parking lot. It’s a popular spot so each trip is noticeable. It didn’t help that construction work was going on at the adjacent property with power tools and loud music. Windows need to be open due to lack of air conditioning. We still had an enjoyable trip but would not choose this location in the future.
This is the second time we have stayed at this home on Halanei Bay. It provides everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation. I would highly recommend this home if you are looking for a place for a large family or group that want to be able to spend lots of time together in a comfortable setting!
This was a beautiful home that was just the right distance from Hanalei town center and almost exactly in the middle of the bay. It had surf boards and boogie boards, and all of the sand toys one could want. The gardens were lovely and the views of the sea were incredible. In the morning the sunrise was on one side of the lanai overlooking the bay, and in the evening the sunset was on the other. It was magical. The owners were very communicative and helpful. We even harvested some of the on-property papayas!

Our group of four adults and three children couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay. This house, situated right on the beach, exceeded all our expectations. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The views from the deck are breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to relax. Every bed in the house was incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials as well as the most thoughtful welcome basket.
The house is a treasure trove of entertainment options, with an abundance of toys, games, surfboards, and bodyboards. The location is ideal, allowing us to walk into town every day. We feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered this gem and will definitely be returning!
As for the nearby carpark that others have mentioned, it was a non-issue for us. None of us noticed any noise, even though we spent most of our time on the deck.
Could not have been happier with our stay here!! Open the back gate and you’re on the beach. Go out the front and you’re a 1-2 minute drive to Hanalei and all the shops. You could easily walk or bike it, but we didn’t due to having 4 young children. The house did not have air conditioning, but it was shockingly comfortable day and night with the windows/screens (if you’re comfortable leaving them open at night with kiddos). They have fans in all rooms and extra plug in fans that still keep everything cool with all the windows/shutters closed at night. The porch was the perfect spot to wake up and watch the beach until kids woke up. Plenty of yard for them to roam and the outdoor shower helped with the sand drug back from the beach. The washer/dryer were clutch, and the “game/fun closet” had everything we could’ve wished for (surf boards, boogie boards, footballs, puzzles, legos, board games, ETC.” We we were worried about the parking lot between the house/beach and it posed zero issues. You can hear cars roll in/out, but it’s not disturbing nor do you really see the lot due to the lush landscapes. Truly not a deterrent. We took surf lessons through Aloha Surf School and bonus we could meet them right out of the back gate. This spot could not have been better. The Hanalei Pier is 0.9 miles from the house, so that was a relaxing walk early in the mornings or at sunset. House again was perfect! Maholo for the beautiful and unforgettable stay!!!
The location right at Grandpas beach on Hanalei Bay was exceptional. The home is outstanding. Beautiful and well maintained. Love the outdoor shower and the gardens. Walk out the back gate to volleyball, beach and nice little shore break. Great views of the outer reef. Exceptional home and location!

Kauai is our absolute favorite island. I planned this trip for 3 couples and I knew I wanted to stay in Hanalei. It's the best spot for a long, beautiful beach and a great town. I looked at a few other homes, farther back from the beach, but ultimately decided I wanted to spend the extra money to be able to wake up and see the beach from our balcony. I am so glad I did.
The home is beautiful. It was very roomy, clean and tastefully decorated. It has pretty much everything you need. Of course you'll need to go grocery shopping, but there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in all the bathrooms as well as the outdoor shower. There was plenty of bath and beach towels. There's no air conditioning, but there are plenty of fans and windows you can open.
Another review mentioned the roosters. Yes, the island has roosters and chickens everywhere. Yes, apparently roosters crow all hours... even 2am. It doesn't matter where you stay, you'll hear them. Just bring ear plugs for sleeping.
Overall, all of us really enjoyed our stay in Kauai and at this house. We would definitely stay at this house again.

By far the best beach house we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in many over the past several years)! The house was amazing, we could not have asked for a better location or more well equipped house... it had everything you can think of. The views are absolutely stunning! Talia is the best hostess ever... she responded quickly when one of the smoke detectors went bad (or maybe the battery died) and the coffee maker was having issues... she brought new replacements within less than 2 hours. I will say, the roosters are a little annoying with their cockadoodle doing at 3am, but this is part of being in Kauai, I guess... next time we come, I'll just bring my headband headphones to sleep with! Otherwise, as far as the house itself and location... it was 1000% worth it! We were sad to leave. If we make it back to this island in the near future, I wouldn't even bother to look for a different rental house... this one is it hands down!
