Us & both sets of parents really enjoyed our stay. It was the location we wanted up North & with easy beach access. The property has the all the needed scuba & beach gear available, ping pong table, grill etc to just settle in, relax and enjoy yourselves. Our seniors had no issue with the stairs or quick walk to the water.The minor-est of nitpicks would be labeling remotes & light switches, replacing the knobs on the stove which aren't legible.We would all come back and stay here again in a heartbeat.
AMAZING place! We had such a great time at the local beaches (close to Tunnels beach), playing games downstairs of the house, and relaxing in the AC when tired. House is clean, modern with Hawaiian touches, has a beautiful tropical yard with gorgeous ocean views, and had everything we needed! Perfect vacation!
Beautiful views, well equipped fans & AC. Clean except for thick dust on top of fridge & markings worn off stop top make it hard to figure out. Rental company very responsive except on Sundays we got no response.

Beautiful home with great ocean views from the lanai and a very short walk to a quiet, picturesque beach. Kitchen is very well stocked for at-home cooking. The Makana hosts are very responsive to any questions or needs that come up before or during the stay. Our family hopes we can return to visit again!

Great time, the property was clean and very well equipped. Fans, AC and everything worked great. Our boys loved the dumbwaiter. Communication from the property management was OK, though they didn't respond to my reply to their texts. I could have tried harder (email, phone) but it wasn't that important. Overall it was a great week, much thanks!

We loved this property! Easy walk to the beach and the house was in great shape! We used the kitchen and never lacked for any appliance or utensil. We would definitely stay here again. Please note that the Master bathroom is huge but has no door, only curtains.

I almost don’t want to give this great a review because it will get booked up! Everything about this home, management company and communication was about as good as it gets. We rent homes throughout Haena and this experience was probably the best experience we have had. Communication was excellent and polite. The folio they email had all necessary information for an easy check in. After traveling all day you’re hot, tired and you just want to be done and relax. The moment we walked through the door it was just that - Hawaiian music was playing, the air conditioner was on and was pleasantly cool, ambient lighting was on and above all it was clean and absolutely beautiful. The home was well equipped with everything you might need. It is a property we will rent again because we know this home and management company was outstanding. Enjoy the North Shore and stay here - you won’t be sorry.

Great stay for my group of 7. The home is tastefully decorated, has a kitchen with all cooking gear and is generally comfortable - plenty of room for 7. The location was fabulous - 1-2 miles from Tunnels beach and the state park and 2 minute walk to a beach where you can catch sunrise and sunset. Home has a full supply of beach chairs, umbrellas, pull cart and boogie boards - all were in good condition. Communication with the management team was easy and they were responsive. Only flaw was the grill igniter doesnt seem to work but we were able to light it manually. All told, a terrific home in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is fantastic for its proximity to Tunnel's Beach and snorkeling. It is a little further down the road from Hanalei Bay but that's why we liked it. The beach access was very easy and close.
The property itself was terrific. Very clean and spacious and we felt that the owners had thought of just about everything. Their entertainment system was easy to use. It was nice having a washer and dryer on location with detergent already there so as not to incur addition costs.
The bedrooms were large and comfortable.
This was our third time staying on the north shore and would have no hesitation staying here again.

Magical. Steps from beach.
The pictures of this house do not do it justice. We arrived after dark and were greeted with lights and A/C on for us. You won't find a more perfect location - kitchen well stocked, spotless, great outdoor areas, comfortable bedding, and beach essentials. We didn't eat out once! But love that about our North shore vacations and gave been returning for over 20 years. Management very responsive. Do not hesitate to book this great house!!

Hale Hina was a beautiful property. The kitchen was well stocked and Makana Kauai was very responsive to any questions. The property has a view of the ocean but the short walk to the water in front of the property is not swimmable due to the reefs and rough seas. Tunnels beach is less than a mile away and is a gorgeous beach that you can swim and snorkel in. The property is accessed by going over 7 one-lane bridges from the town of Hanalei, so it is a bit remote, but the views and the property itself are great!

The house is beautiful and just as pictured. The layout was perfect for the 3 couples in our group. Great kitchen, very well equipped. The view is amazing from the master bedroom and living room. We walked almost every morning ( one morning was raining, but with rain we were blessed with rainbows and waterfalls!) to the beautiful beach. WHAT A VIEW! This was our 3rd trip to Kauai and we have allays stayed on North shore. This was first time this far north but would definitely stay here again! It is more remote and you do have a drive to get to other beaches and attractions but to wake up in this morning and have the beach almost at your doorstep was well worth it. There never more then 5-6 other people on the beach. The property management team made check in and corresponding effortless.
Our family (including 4 in their early 20s) spent a week enjoying the beautiful home and nearby beaches. We loved that each bedroom had its own private bath. The kitchen was well-appointed and we cooked a number of meals together. The proximity to Hanalei, Tunnels Beach and the Na Pali coast trail provided everyone with great options. And we were lucky to have really great weather. Will definitely be back!

This was our second stay in the house. The first was many years ago, before a major renovation. Both times, we loved the house because of its location and layout. Because all three bedrooms are spacious and have en suite baths, it is great for families or couples. The renovations are tasteful and lovely.
We were 3 adult couples who are close proximity friends at home. This was our second trip together and we found Hale Hena to have enough room for us all to be comfortable in. We are all cooks and found the kitchen to have everything we needed.....except for sharp knives which we have NEVER found in a vacation rental and which is why we always bring at least 1 with us. Hale Hena is practically on the beach and closes to snorkeling as well as the various marine life ( seals and turtles).The only downside of staying in Haena is the distance to good restaurant food in either Hanalea or Kapaa.

This rental was an absolute dream! Beautifully decorated, spacious and fully appointed with everything needed for a beach vacation. Access to the beach and views from the deck were fabulous! My guest and I have each traveled the world and been fortunate enough to have stayed in some fantastic places. This easily ranks up there with the very top. From the moment you arrive, after taking in the ridiculous view from the living room to the waves breaking, you realize how clean and spacious and modern the accommodations are and yet it feels warm and comfortable with just a subtle touch of island/surf decor. It really has everything you need. New appliances and beautiful kitchen and plenty of towels for beach and home. The ping-pong table, swing and beach chairs were surprise bonuses in the beautiful patio. Even a yoga mat! And most importantly, the location is fantastic. Just close enough to Hanalei to be convenient for the great restaurants and stores, but far enough out of town to feel away from the crowds, if there are any. A very short walk to the beautiful beach, and a short drive to some other stunning beaches as well. And every time you return after being out, it feels like a real home. Impeccably maintained by the management. Really wonderful. A slice of heaven. My only complaint is that the time flies by too quickly. Hope to return soon. Thank you! Aloha
