The cottage is located on the corner of the well- traved two lane and a quiet residential cul-de-sac. Tall hibiscus and palm trees muffle beach traffic during the day. There is little traffic at night.
This cottage is on the corner of a residential cul-de-sac and a well-traveled, 2-lane road that runs to a glorious end at Haena State Beach and the base of the Na Pali Coast.
Access to Kee Beach requires a reservation. Reserve the shuttle to Haena State Park( Ke'e Beach) and to hiking along the breathtaking Na Pali Coast. If you are planning to hike the Na Pali trail, please plan in advance.

Photos looked a little better than the reality of the place. But, it was very comfortable. While the gate was a gate, it didn't lock or open/close automatically. Overall, I was very comfortable.

Our stay at Haena was a dream come true. We stayed there for a week, and everything was great. On the first day, there was an annoying noise, and we sent Donna a message. She took care of it immediately and even came by. We were able to solve the problem quickly. The house has everything you need and much more, including a lot of items for the beach. Donna's tips were also very helpful. You can see that a lot of love has gone into this house, and you really feel the Aloha spirit. We will definitely come back! Mahalo, Donna!"

We loved everything about Barefoot Hideaways! The home came equipped with everything we’d need for a 10 day stay on the island. All the beach equipment and the wagon made our daily beach adventures easy to pull off. The proximity to Tunnels and other access points was ideal.
The kitchen is well equipped with all we needed and the bedrooms and bathrooms perfectly comfortable.
We recommend the house to anyone looking for a perfect North Shore getaway. We truly hope to be back soon. Aloha!

This was our second time staying at Donna’s lovely cottage. We love it there! It looks exactly as it does in the pictures. It is maybe a five minute walk to a beautiful beach that we loved snorkeling at. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back a third time. Thanks, Donna!

The property is beautiful, private with lots of lovely spaces to enjoy the gorgeous north shore. Mattresses are super comfy and the hosts provided everything we needed, from toiletries to kitchen essentials, including coffee.
A short shuttle ride (or walk) takes you to the beautiful Hae’na and tunnels beach (or, with reservations, the incredible Ke’e beach and Nepali hike). The restaurant at the nearby resort is fairly nice, and definitely try the smoothie shop and small grocery about three minutes east.

The location of this property was really great for accessing different beaches along the north shore. This would be a great house if you are looking for more adventures on the beach, eating out, and need a place to crash. The owner was super nice and did let us check in a little early which we appreciated.
The beds and bathrooms were very nice and comfortable. The owner provided beach towels and equipment for snorkeling and relaxing on the beach.
Unfortunately, we were unable to take advantage of the relaxing area under the house due to the sheer number of large garden spiders that had built homes under the house. They are native spiders, but there were dozens with major webs. There were webs we would accidentally walk into. The yard structures where the grill was located was obstructed with over growth of plants and spiders so we were unable to utilize the grill.
In addition, there were many house flies in the house when we first arrived. Also, the spices in the turn around cabinet were so incredibly old - the bay leaves were brown, many of them were caked (old)....and no pepper in sight. Bring your own spices.
The pictures didn't quite meet expectations. I would return in the future if some of the outside issues and kitchen issues are addressed.

The place was very clean and thoughtfully equipped with supplies for a relaxing stay. Ample outdoor space to enjoy reading in a lounge chair or to nap in a hammock. Location is very convenient to the North shore area. A short walk to a beach or a short drive to the Haena Beach or Park. Donna, our host, was very responsive and kind.

This has to be one of the most amazing rental's my wife and I have stayed in on vacation. The grounds are shrouded with native landscaping that offers privacy and a true sense of being in Hawaii. There is A/C in each of the 3 rooms along with fans which keeps it comfortable and there is a very well stocked kitchen with every amenity you could possibly need. The driveway in is covered as well which was a blessing on days when it rained and we had taken the top(s) off on our Jeep rental. IMO, the location of this rental is hard to beat and felt as though we were living at the edge of the world being located 5 mins (at most) from Haena Beach and the infamous Kalalau Trail. We watched the sunset at Haena Beach 3 of 4 nights during our stay and it is hard to beat. The owner was very responsive and even took the time to purchase a small birthday welcome of flowers / a balloon as it was my 40th. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to return.

We had a lovely time. Can't beat the location-walkable to Tunnels Beach and a short drive to the quaint town of Hanelai. Would definitely stay here again.

The house had everything we needed and much more. It made everything we wanted to do on the north side of the island very easy. Highly recommend.
