This was a great place to stay for a recent reunion with friends. Easy location by car to downtown Honolulu or drive to the north shore. Scott was very accommodating with a scheduling mix up on our part, and was communicative when we had questions or wanted to know where the nearest stores were. Also, this house was the most well appointed for cooking and other needs of any home I have rented! We needed nothing other than the groceries! Would definitely recommend.
Scott's home was perfect for our party of 4 adults. It is beautifully decorated and had all the amenities of home. We loved the location. Scott is a great host!
We were there over the 4th of July. Our family had rented another house across the street and so this was the secondary house. It worked great! The home was “fancy” (that’s what my husband said!). Really beautiful kitchen and bedrooms. My two adult brothers and partners did great there!
Only two complaints: 1. We went to Safeway and got a bunch of stuff to set them up (coffee, cream, some breakfast stuff) and I think your cleaning crew was there when we dropped it off for them, so the coffee was taken by the cleaning crew. I think it was an honest mistake and they thought it was from previous tenant? But ya know, coffee!!!! Kind of a bummer.
2. There was one or two times when the owner had a bunch of cars filling the driveway. Made it a little awkward to park. They parked down by our house. This might have been on the 4th of July.
That’s it! Lovely home!
We had a great stay at this property! The place was perfect for our family of 6 (4 adults and two kids). The location was great as our home base while we toured the island. The host was wonderful and available for any questions we had. I highly recommend this location and hope to come back one day too!
The house is very spacious and well decorated, sparkle clean, feels luxurious. The location is very good, not too far from downtown Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and Hanauma Bay. There's also Costco and Safeway nearby.
The host Scott is a great guy!. We arrived after dark and were circling around looking for the house; he came out waved us down and greeted us. Such hospitality!
There's a big kitchen, big bedrooms, big comfortable living room, windows on three sides.
The house also provides many beach equipment; we used the snorkels and fins in Hanauma Bay, and it was fun!
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. A few minor things to mention: there were a few stray tiny ants in the middle bathroom floors, but they never got to the kitchen. Also the wall to host's main house is not totally sound-proof, but all is quite before bedtime. So they did not affect our stay. We would definitely come back if we have chance in the future.
Our family stayed here and it was an excellent choice. Close to everything the South Island has to offer as well as Costco and Safeway. Kitchen is very well stocked for cooking including a rice cooker. Walking distance to several parks for kids to play. Owner is very friendly with a beautifully manicured yard. Highly recommend!
Scott has truly created a comfortable tropical oasis without overlooking a single detail. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well being able to control the a/c in each room. The gourmet kitchen was a cooks dream! There are all sizes of pots, pans, measuring cups, bowls, utensils, etc! I especially appreciated the variety of spices and thoughtfulness behind freezer ice packs and the use of a cooler for our days at the beach. Speaking of the beach, we had beach towels, chairs, boogie boards to use for our days at the beach! Scott was very communicative, helpful with local recommendations for dining and activities, and welcoming--would suggest anyone considering to book to pull the trigger, you won't be disappointed.
The house was clean and beautiful. We loved the location and the view. It was nice to have beach gear. We also liked that there were restaurants, stores, beaches, and hikes so close by.
This was a great property for our party of 4 to stay at. Scott was a great host and was responsive and easy to communicate with. We also made great use of the beach amenities he provided (chairs, towels, umbrella, cooler, snorkeling gear, and boogie boards). The beds were comfortable and there was no shortage of hot water in the showers. We also found the location to be extremely convenient to local shopping as well as to the highways. All in all, this home away from home made our visit to Hawaii all the more enjoyable!
Very pleased with our experience in Hawaii Kai. The unit itself is clean and comfortable, easily accommodating a family of 5 (albeit with one kid sleeping in pullout in LR and another in a pullout at top of stairs). Location is convenient- very close to Koko Head and Hanauma Bay. Several restaurants, inc. Kona Brewing Co., are less than a mile away. Get to Downtown Honolulu in 20 minutes or so (except during rush hour). Scott, the owner, is very accommodating and helpful with local recommendations. Will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Oahu.
Stay away from this one. Home was overall dirty, small, and poorly lit, not to mention a very inconvenient location far away from all the areas of the island you want to be. The kitchen sink was constantly clogged and made the house stink. Both beds were extremely uncomfortable, we almost booked a hotel halfway through the week. The pull out couch was even worse. Owner Scott was a vile and deceitful man, he cheated us out of our 1500 deposit. Would never stay here again. Carpet was disgusting. So disappointed with our stay here.
