We absolutely loved this house. Location was incredible - views of the mountain and ocean. Many places to sit and relax - plus incredible pool. The breezes make this an especially comfortable and relaxing stay. Everything was easy and house was wonderfully equipped. This was our second time renting from HVR - per usual, Amanda & Sandy are wonderful and responsive to any issues! The neighborhood is very quiet - would not recommend if you are wanting to play music/ make noise.
The views from the balcony were amazing. House is very nice and spacious so you do not feel like your on top of each other. Everyone was very nice and accommodating with our flights being delayed.

Great location, well equipped and spacious home. However, the upstairs living room couch is not very comfortable and the dining room chairs felt as though they would collapse if a big person sat on them. The shower downstairs dripped and there was a leak from the ceiling in the living room.

I really wish we had selected another property for our stay in Hawaii. We were there 10 days, and we dealt with extremely high winds for 8 of them. If there is wind anywhere on the island it will be seriously amplified here. It felt like we were living through a tropical storm day and night. I cannot stress this issue enough. Yes, it was windy during our stay all over the island. But we were in several locations across Oahu and this was just another level of wind. The wind also made the pool dirty so we really didn't get to enjoy it as much. The property itself is not very well kept either. It was cleaned before we arrived, but the place needs a lot of work. The host told us they would look into the maintenance items we mentioned, but it really should have been done BEFORE we arrived. It definitely feels like a rental that has had very little maintenance done to it for a long time. The shower heads leaked. The kitchen oven hood wouldn't turn off. The refrigerator ice maker didn't work well. The Internet was okay but the TVs had poor connections. The light switches were loose. The BBQ and cover were rusted and ripped. The covers on the furniture outside were ruined. The bathroom setup was not good. The shared bathroom upstairs was essentially in the master bedroom. Also, the owners were very strict about having more than 8 people over. We found this out when reviewing the agreement. They did offer to refund our deposit, so I can't say anything else about that. Just understand that if you are going to need to have more than 8 people, even for a few minutes (not sleeping over) then this place isn't for you. Overall I cannot recommend this property. Far too expensive for the experience we received.

Great location - Great property - Great experience!Our vacation was interrupted twice due to Covid and the management company worked with us to ensure we finally enjoyed a long overdue vacation. We have rented all over the globe and this experience ranks among the top 3 for sure. You will not be disappointed and worth every dime. I would easily rent this location again in a heartbeat.
There is so much to do on the south-east side of the island, it was nice staying at this place with easy access lots of directions. Only 5 minute drive to costco, safeway, plate lunch, Leonard's (malasada truck) and great shave ice. We primarily drove out to Waimanalo for beach days, but had easy access to lots of hikes and other sites as well. I was happy to add a few minutes to the drive in exchange for the great views we had from the house every day.

We were on vacation as an extended family (grandparents, adult children, 3 grandkids) and found this home to be just lovely and great for our group. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out inside and outside. The pool and backyard were all very well used by kids and adults. The bedrooms all had a/c units which helped keep everyone cool at night - the common spaces got warm, but the ceiling fans as well as floor fans helped keep the air circulating and it never got uncomfortably hot - and if it did, you could just retreat to your bedroom! The house also had plenty of towels, beach towels, pool toys, floaties that were great to have on hand. The kitchen was also well stocked with plenty of plates, cooking equipment, and kitchen spices, which were a nice touch. My only criticism is that the hot water ran out quickly - this was the case even when we tried to space out our short showers throughout the day and avoided running the dishwasher while or right before showers. We were told when we checked out that perhaps the breakers didn’t switch over from the solar to the regular power source, but never got the issue fixed during our stay. The property manager/contact was very easy to contact and quick to respond to our questions. The location in Hawaii Kai was also very convenient - it was a quiet neighborhood and very close to grocery stores (Safeway and Costco) as well as lots of restaurants. Also very close to Koko Crater and the lighthouse hiking trail. Assuming that the hot water worked better, we would love to stay here again if we were to visit Hawaii with a large group!
Our overall stay was fantastic. The property manager communicated very well. We were able to check in earlier than planned as cleaning was done rather quickly. We had all the comforts of home and the views from the deck are stunning. We felt very welcomed. We did have one noise complaint from one neighbor, but we met other neighbors who were fantastic. The property is very well maintained and the landscaping is great. We loved our stay here!

Perfect home for our needs. The house was very comfortable and very clean. Great location and the view from the upper deck was amazing. The management company was very responsive and quick to resolve a minor problem with the pool. I would definitely rent this property again. Close to Safeway Supermarket, Costco and 2 little shopping areas with some great restaurants. It was just perfect
If you enjoy beautiful views, constant trade winds and days spent surfing the many great spots of Oahu — this place is darn near perfect. Evenings by the pool are pretty great too.
