Great little condo with lots of privacy and amazing views. Functional and comfortable for a family with two kids. The area is quite windy and the beach is not kid friendly but still a beautiful place. We had the best sunrises, hope to come back.
The location is heavenly—beautiful view of the beach and Milky Way at night! The pool and grill are are very clean and comfortable/easy to use. Friendly staff at check in. While I would absolutely stay here again, the shower could use updating. Overall, a wonderful experience and stay!
Can’t beat this view and being so close to the ocean. Pool area looks new and excellent area! Day spa massage was great! We really like that it’s run by locals & do a great job with an older property.
The property is lovely - right on the ocean. It is nicely decorated and clean. Some things definitely show some weathering - as is expected when so exposed to the elements. The Resort is lovely too. The pool area was very nice. I would definitely stay there again if I were to return to Kauai.
This property is everything the listing shows! We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed listening to the waves that were truly just a few steps away!

This was the last part of our trip of five weeks in Hawaii. We started on Oahu and ended up at Kauai. traveled with three of my friends rented a wonderful convertible, soft top Jeep, which was great to explore. The weather does change quite quickly there. It was beautiful, warm and falling asleep to the ocean. There’s nothing better looking forward to spending more days in the future here. We enjoyed cooking in the house and the back deck listening to the ocean was priceless. Easy to get to and everything that we needed.
The unit was really just feet from the ocean. The unit was as promised, lots of space to spread out , there were only two of us but there would be lots of room for four. The bed was comfy and the ocean breeze cooled us off in the evening. The kitchen was big. We didn't use any of the resort facilities like the pool. There was a beach chair and umbrella and cooler of for use. It was very breezy when we were the end of May so we weren't able to sit on the deck as much as we had hoped. If you have a reservation on the shuttle that takes you to the state park they will pick you up at the resort and that was great especially at the end of the day.he We didn't have a great experience at the onsite restaurant, maybe just a bad night for them. Only issue was the property manager not responding in a timely to our concern of the smoke detector randomly beeping one evening which lead to the battery dying a few days later and the smoke detector blaring while we were out. I felt bad for the people around us cause it was very loud!
Imagine the sound of the waves just outside your window and constant trade winds blowing. A rustic beach almost all to yourself, quiet neighbors (there’s a 10pm quiet code), beautiful pool, delicious restaurant, cute coffee/gift shop, and above all an open, airy condo simply, but comfortably appointed. If there’s a downside, it’s the driving distance to attractions, but being almost at the end of the line—there are seven one-lane bridges between the condo and the nearest town!—truly allows one to unplug, breathe, and relax. A plus to the owner for quickly responding to our inquiries prior to and during our stay. Definitely recommend!
Hanalei Colony Resort is like a step back in time. Its not fancy but all you need. The location cant be beat and we love the lush scenery and old Hawaii vibe of Hanalei. Sounds of the ocean as you sleep and a touch of tropical rain almost every day. Restaurant on site is worn but food was good and service great! Get the poke nachos! Best Mai Tai on the island!
Our stay got off to a rough start because the cleaners had not come after the previous guests left. It was Easter Sunday and on one was available to come. Luckily, the rental company had an available unit for us to spend the night in. The cleaning delay meant that we were not able to get into our unit until late morning the next day when we could finally unpack and begin our holiday. The unit is well lived in but clean and well located. The overall property is very north shore; beautiful and relaxed. The bbq / pool area is great. Overall very happy with our stay.
We absolutely loved this place, brewing our coffee and taking a walk on the beach while enjoying the beautiful sunrise each morning. We will stay here again
The condo was lacking in adequate kitchenware, dishes and basic condiments (No salt or pepper shaker). The extra blankets requested were moldy and were not used. After several calls and promises, nothing was remedied. The manager eventually paid us 500 but this did not make up for the inconvenience. We would not return to this site.

If you're looking for the end of the road, this is it! We loved the location even though driving to other locations on the island were sometimes a bit time-consuming. Plenty of sun here throughout our week-long stay. Great location near the beach. Not very swimmable, but loved falling to sleep listening to the waves and watching the sunrise every day. Plenty of other beaches nearby also. The unit was very comfortable, but could use an update or two. Would definitely go back!
This was a great stay for the first part of our trip! Its literally right on the water and you can hear the roar of the ocean! The place was well kept. You might bring some games, if you get bored at night easily, as there is no TV. Would definitely stay here again!

Our initial impression when we arrived was not great. The woman who checked us in was pleasant until she found out what unit we were staying in and that we booked it through VRBO and not the actual property. She was very short and rude. We also were not able to take advantage of the shuttle on property because we booked through VRBO. Over all this did not affect our visit but the owners should be aware of the "vibe" guests get when arriving. We stayed at the property with our 2 teenagers. The location was amazing. The unit was definitely in need of some TLC and upgrades. The bbq and pool area was very nice and new.
This was the perfect place to have our honeymoon. The location was so relaxing and farther out than any of the resorts. We enjoyed the quiet and the peace of a nearly vacant beach to great us each morning. It felt like our own little slice of paradise. If you want to be in the thick of tourist land and busy south shore this is not for you but if you enjoy the quiet and beautiful island experience and plan your excursions wisely this is perfect. The ocean was beautiful with plenty of beach to make you feel at ease and on vacation. The pool was private and beautifully maintained. Couldn’t recommend it higher for likeminded honeymooners to enjoy the north shore and the wonderful hanalei bay. The room had everything we needed. Our only issue was that the pillows likely need to be replaced. Other than that, we were more than happy and loved our stay.

If you want an out of the way place to stay with beaqutiful scenery, then this is the place. Staying on the north side of the island gives you beautiful scenery but remember that most places you go there is a drive on curvey and narrow roads but we enjoyed that part. GPS says 37 min. to the airport. Forget that? About and hr and a half to be safe. The small towns are fun and friendly, the island is gorgeous and we would go again. Best food we had was at the restaurant at the condo. Condos are older but nice and arranged so that you almost feel you are there alone. It worked perfect for us as we enjoyed driving the island and seeing the sights.

Beautiful area and loved the North Shore
Property was right on the water, close to our favorite north shore beaches for swimming, exploring and snorkeling. Very remote and quiet but for the sound of crashing waves. New pool pavillion/BBQ center is nice. Shuttle to north shore sites is an added bonus given parking can be limited. We were cozy in this clean and unit! Being able to go back and forth easily to Tunnels was amazing!

What an amazing place to stay near Hanalei! The view is amazing and you are literally steps away from the beach. We slept awesome listening to the ocean every night. We definitely recommend this property!
We absolutely loved our stay. The view was spectacular, location perfect for getting away from it all, pool/hot tub perfect after a long day of hiking. Drew, Darci and coffee shop ladies were welcoming, kind and just lovely. Our only complaint is the check-in process. I didn’t access all the information from VRBO for check-in which was my fault, but the woman who checked us in was rude, misleading RE amenities available to us and really unwelcoming. She should be the last person in customer service business. If you eliminate her, our stay was 5 out of 5! We’ll b back!

Beautiful unit on ground floor, stunning location (we thought it one of the best on the property) with gorgeous view and the constant roar of the ocean. Truly a remote, quiet and relaxing location away from the bustle of the city. We loved the unplugged feel (no tv! but wifi worked great if you can't completely unplug... ;), no air-con but plenty of ocean breeze. We cooked our own meals (local fish on the shared bbq by the pool!) to take advantage of the porch and views, so didn't eat in the on-site restaurant, but did enjoy the convenient coffee stand. Property management was great to work with and we are already planning when we can return. If you're looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature and scenery, this is the place.
