Hanalei Colony Resort I1 is unique among north shore Kauai condo resorts. These Hanalei vacation rentals are directly on the path to follow, just take a few steps and you're on the sand. And I1 is the closest building, directly on the beach. You can also take advantage of the restaurant and spa onsite, or prepare your own food in your apartment's full kitchen or on the gas grills provided. Pool, jacuzzi and barbecue are conveniently close.

This condo has a large shady lanai that puts you 10 steps from the sand. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two twin beds. For privacy, the bedrooms can be closed off from the rest of the unit with sliding shoji screens, which still allow air flow to keep you cool at night. The living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and there are spectacular beach views from the large picture windows. There's a full bath and a half bath. While there are no televisions or cable television service in the complex, wifi is provided so you won't be completely cut off from the modern world. (Only as cut off as you want to be.)

In addition to Hanalei Colony Resort I1's beautiful interior and views, and the beach just in front, guests can enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue grills, and guest laundry room. You can walk next door to the Opakapaka Bar and Grill. Also located just across the parking lot is the Hanalei Day Spa. Just ten minutes past the charming town of Hanalei, you'll find that shopping and dining options are conveniently close. It's the perfect Kauai vacation rental for proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and other romantic occasions.

While wonderfully furnished and right next to the beach, please know that the development was built in simpler times. The units are smaller and have kitchens to match. Some normal amenities will be absent given the space and purposeful attempt to honor the simplicity of earlier times: you won’t find a dishwasher or washing machine in any of the units (there is a laundry room on the premises), and most units have no televisions (though wifi is available for those of us who can't escape work or want to stream our favorite shows).

As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was perfect. Excellent location. Close to Tunnels and Na Pali Coast State Park. Shuttle even picked us up right at the property. Beautiful sunrises every morning.

We thoroughly loved and enjoyed our short stay at Hanalei Colony Resort. We were just feet from the beach, loved soaking up the great views from our lanai, and enjoyed the simple amenities of the condo. The grounds keeping was very good and there was beautiful landscaping. No fancy frills, just basic amenities to help you unplug.

This place was amazing. If there is a rental closer to the beach on Kauai, I'd like to see it. It was 25 yards from the Lanai to the beach, and this rental is away from all the traffic and crowds. It is on the North Shore just minutes from the end of the road where the Napali Coast begins.

We got to property and found that a handful of these condos are not associated with resort. Resort intake folks were not hostile but close. The unit itself was in incredible disrepair. Things broken. Paint and wallpaper peeling. Bath room fan sounded like an airplane. No simple amenities 3 coffee filters for a 7 day stay. Towels were not usable because of stains. Towels were replaced but I had to spend vacation time calling. This property is NOT I REPEAT NOT worth the money!!! We saved for this trip. However we do travel some. I’ve never been more disappointed. We did not realize that a bridge would be closed so we could not make our flight if we stay at this property the last night. The property manager did refund some money so we could stay elsewhere. Again my vacation time was used for this communication. They were unwilling to refund for the disrepair and shabbiness. We were very disappointed!!!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, two teen daughters and I loved our stay here and would definitely come back again. The layout is perfect in that it feels open with the best ocean views, yet teens and adults each had own space. We found it super relaxing here and watched the sunrise each morning. Ate dinner in the restaurant on site every night, and blended coffee drinks every afternoon. Got a few staples at the Wainiha Market on the way to the Resort. The breeze coming through the unit kept us cool enough. Management was very responsive. There was noise from above on the last night - a young family arrived that day. The ocean is beautiful to look out at, but you'll want to go to other beaches for swimming.
