This property was perfect for our visit to Volcano National Park. It is located close to the park and we had everything we needed at the property. We even saw the eruption of Kilauea from the deck! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
We enjoyed staying in this peaceful upper level apartment. It’s in a beautiful location and is very close to Volcanoes National Park. We enjoyed the open feel of the space with all of the big windows and the nice wrap around porch. We appreciated that there were a variety of movies, books and games provided for our use as well. Highly recommend for a comfy and cozy stay!

Everything about this property was perfect! We are neat freaks and this place was spotless, which is always the most important thing to us. The beds were comfortable and the property was well-appointed. The small touches such as a few snacks and coffee/tea/creamers that were provided were much appreciated. The location was peaceful and convenient to entering the park. I would recommend this property and hope to be able to visit again some day.
Home was immaculate and had great attention to all sorts of detail to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.Location was just minutes from Volcano National Park and the host was available when needed and offered great advice on local shopping suggestions for groceries. This lovely house is SO close to Volcanoes National Park that we let our teenager sleep in the day we toured it. And we were able to enjoy the view out the big windows to the golf course and view of one of the volcanoes while we drank our coffee and waited for him to get up. The house has everything we needed, plus a sweet basket of "welcome treats. We took those as part of our picnic lunch that we packed in one of the coolers available for guests to use. Super clear instructions about the house and information on the surrounding area provided. A great stay for a few days to check out the park.
We have stayed here several times and whenever we bring guests to the area. The house is perfectly situated for visiting the National Park, winery, golf etc. and has a beautiful view of the golf course. The neighborhood is quiet (no roosters or barking dogs) and beds are comfortable. The house is also well equipped with everything you need to make your visit enjoyable. We are looking forward to our next trip to the area and staying at this beautiful place in a perfect location.

The house was spotless and well maintained and appointed. We had only 2 complaints; no batteries in the remote for the ceiling fans, and no way to control the heat. We ended up using the stove and oven to take the chill off in the morning. The automatic thermostat is set in the owners unit so there is no access and you’re screwed if you wake up early. Really a major downside.

Exceeded our expectations! This beautiful and well appointed home made our stay comfortable and relaxing. Lori was very helpful and has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, like a telescope for stargazing and maps to help you explore the area. Communication with the hosts was excellent and set the stage for a wonderful stay just outside Volcanoes National Park. Thoughtfully appointed, the hosts have truly noted the details - and have gotten them right. The cool, night air forgoes any need for air conditioning and wandering outside at night reveals more stars to the naked eye than you’d think possible.
We had such a lovely, relaxing family time. Sitting out on the patio drinking coffee, watching the golfers and Nenes was a favorite memory. We had fun playing games and taking day trips to Hilo. I love the cool air. We prefer the mountains over the beach so this is as good as it gets for us! It is so dark, quiet and secluded. It is clean, well-stocked and feels like home. Thank you!

Excellent location for exploring Volcanoes National Park and surrounding areas over two days and a great way to start a Big Island week-long vacation. The home was extremely clean and well kept. Very spacious for a single couple like my wife and I but also would be perfect for a family or two couples vacationing together. Well stocked, easy and clear checkin/checkout instructions, and helpful suggestions for things to do and places to eat made the entire experience perfect.

Unfortunately we only had 2 days for the big island with our primary mission being the National Park. This home was located 5 minutes from the entrance. The home was so nice, we regretted not having more time in it. Quiet, comfortable, very well appointed. Clearly well cared for and thoughtful hosts. A few snacks and drinks in a basket to welcome us along with considerable, useful information left on the table. The host responded to inquiries quickly. The house was scrupulously clean and homey. We couldn't have asked for more. Two large bedrooms, one with a master bath. Well stocked kitchen and towels and linens. Gorgeous outlook over golf course, beautiful lanai for sitting though unfortunately we didn't have the weather for it. We would recommend the home without hesitation and our standards are relatively high. Easily 5 star!
This beautiful home has it all. The host has thought of everything one might need. It is such a peaceful spot to begin each day- beautiful views, exquisite gardens, bird watching etc. Five minutes from the national park and very easy to go back and forth if you need a rest or simply want to have your meals at home. Don't hesitate to book here. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

We enjoyed our three nights at the Volcano House very much. This a very well stocked two bedroom house with a lovely view of a golf course and one of the volcanos. We didn't get to use the lanai much because it was chilly in February. We were there to spend several days at the volcano so loved being so close the entrance. We were able to come and go to put on more layers and have lunch before heading out for another hike. The house can be a little chilly but they have blankets and heaters.
Beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood. If you want to see nature in its element, this is the place for you. Hawaiian geese (nene) aplenty by the golf course office on the way to Volcanoes National Park. Plenty of other birds visiting the property too We hope to be back one day.

If you are looking for a super cozy place within an easy reach to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, Volcano Home is the one. The perfect location (2.6 ml, 5-minute drive to the park entrance) means you do not need to fit in all the exciting activities in one visit.
Volcano Home is not just well decorated but it also offers plenty of things that will make your stay absolutely enjoyable, like the spacious terrace with the stunning view, the comfortable bedrooms and the fully equipped kitchen. The latter is really instrumental as the neighborhood does not have too many nice places for dining so cooking seemed a good idea. We shopped for groceries at Safeway in Hilo (there are couple of stores with a limited range of products nearby, just basic stuff). Farmers Market is great, but only works two days a week. We found lots of things that made cooking easy: an impressive set of spices (not just traditional salt and pepper), coffee makers, blender.
Beach gear may prove useful in case you plan to relax on the black sand beach and watch turtles basking in the sun (30-minute drive), you can also go for a bike ride (there two bikes for guests). Lori, we appreciated your fantastic job!
