The Jungalow is so inviting and charming! I wish we had more time to enjoy the tranquil setting and the lovely home - and in such proximity to Volcano NP! Every detail was thought of, and the host was easy to contact, and the Jungalow would be a lovely place to unwind while visiting the Big Island!

We only stayed 2 nights but I wish we had booked 4 nights. The home was spotless and had absolutely everything we needed. All three beds were so comfortable (a little softer than we are use to, but so cozy). The home is decorated with so much thought, and was a wonderful place to spend time, with plenty of space for 4 adults. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the national park, which is about a 5 minute drive. Some small restaurants and shops in the small town. When we wanted more options, we drove the 40 minutes into Hilo which was an easy drive. The roads are excellent and there is so much to do in and around Hilo. We spent each morning sitting on the front lanai watching the chickens and chicks wander around the yard. There is a full coffee station stocked with coffee, tea, cocoa and everything you need which was a nice touch. Laundry with plenty of soap, plenty of towels and we loved all the blankets in each room. Thank you! Would absolutely stay again.

The property was perfect for our visit to the Volcano National Park. It was nice that it had coffee, spices and other basic cooking supplies. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice having 2 full baths. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Just a wonderful stay. My only comment is not about the accommodations but just to plan ahead from a food perspective. We stopped at a grocery store on the way out of Hilo and bought food as a lot of restaurants close early.

Loved our time at the Jungalow. So close to the park!! Easy to “pop” in… we were fortunate enough to see some actual lava flow/fountaining! We also were blessed with a clear night… seeing the stars from the park is truly incredible. Really appreciated the fireplace and the heaters as it was definitely much cooler than the Kona side. Spent some time on the porch watching the chickens… so fun to watch them interact!

We started out by staying on the Kona side. We also knew that to go to the National Park would require more time, so we booked one night with you. It truly was not enough time. Your online listing does not do you justice. All 5 of us wanted more time in the Jungalow! Everything was perfect! Cozy, charming, peaceful and everything we needed to unwind. We will plan accordingly the next time we come. Thank you.

Super close to Kīlauea visitor center and amazing house to sleep at. Loved that we could just show up with our family and have just about everything provided. We bought some food to cook for breakfast and was able to cook for ourselves.

This was the perfect place to stay as we waited for Pele to make her appearance on Kilauea. It's an easy 10 minute drive to the national park, and Hilo town is less than 45 minutes away. The house is cozy and comfortable, nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of thoughtful amenities and charm.

Very very conveniently located! It's about ten minutes from Volcanoes National Park, and not too far from other areas of interest as well. We visited from Kona so the difference in climate was extremely refreshing. Love the consideration placed in the small things too, like heated blankets and individual space heaters. It does get a little chilly in the evening at that altitude but I love the cooler nights. Thanks for the opportunity to stay!

Staying in this jungle oasis, it's hard to imagine how close you are to an active volcano and all the destruction and lava flows there. The house is even prettier than in the pictures, and the landscaping which seems completely natural is gorgeous. The beds are very comfortable with soft, warm comforters for the chilly nights at that elevation. Wifi was excellent and living and dining rooms were quite comfortable. Our host was wonderful with excellent communication before our arrival and she left several notes and information about the area that made us feel right at home. The small village of Volcano has the basics and the people are welcoming. If you like Thai food, you must go to the Tuk Tuk Food truck at the Volcano golf course. Servings are large and her food is the best. We really enjoyed staying at a place that was very much tropical "old" Hawaii and hope to return in the future.
