This was a great location for spending more time at the volcano and sites nearby. The house and neighborhood were as expected. We enjoyed the sounds of birds and frogs, with daily rain showers. Be prepared for cooler temps due to elevation. We are experienced with wood stoves but found this unit very difficult to get started and keep burning( some fat wood might be useful). Luckily, there was a plug in heater available and used instead of the woodstove. Overall the unit is as described. Only other item to note, the stove/ oven could really do with updating. I did have to revise my cooking plans slightly when the oven would not heat above 275. Other than that no issues. We enjoyed our stay and would book again.
Great place to stay. Very close to Volcano National Park. You’re in the rain forest so it’s cooler and misty at times but beautiful plants surrounding the house. Porch area is nice addition. Very clean, check-in super easy, wi-fi great, kitchen very well stocked. Communication was exceptional especially since our arrival coincided with the tsunami warning. Super quiet area.
This property is perfect if you’re visiting volcano national park. We were able to get into the park in a few minutes once the volcano started erupting with zero wait. By the time we left there were cars lined up down the highway. The house itself is peaceful and very relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful, immaculately clean home, very convenient to Volcano NP, gorgeous lanai with a porch swing bed for napping. Very responsive host!
Communication lacked days prior to arrival and during our stay as well. There was ONLY salt, pepper and some old plastic non-labeled bottle of what was probably oil in the kitchen. We needed more towels for the length of our stay. I knew nothing of having to open/close and use the gate code during out stay. Everything was clean!

It was clean and extremely well kept, and we enjoyed the lanai out front. The location to the Volcanoes National Park was amazing; such a unique area of the island. We are glad we were able to stay and not just do a day trip.
Great location close to Volcano NP. We monitored the USGS webcam and saw Episode 22 just beginning so we hopped in the car and were at the overlook moments later. We did not have to jockey for a position or circle looking for a parking space. The sound of the coquis at night was very comforting. The fireplace kept the chill away in the evenings. After the hike to the green sand beach, a relaxing shower w instant-on hot water was a pleasure. The lunchtime fresh poke in Hilo at Poke to Your Taste was awesome and of course mochis from Two Ladies in Hilo is a must.

Lovely property near Volcanos National Park. We drove from the Kona side of the island to Hilo and Volcano. The people were friendly, and we enjoyed visiting Volcano Village and the Park. It was very lush, green, and peaceful. The house was well set up, clean, and everything worked well. We would definitely come back.

We had an amazing stay with this property! The location is perfect—just a short drive to Volcano National Park, making it super convenient for exploring. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, allowing us to fully relax after a day of adventure. The home itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed. One of our favorite features was the old wood fireplace, which added so much charm and kept us warm during the cool evenings at this elevation. The outside full-size hanging swing bed is the most comfortable place to relax. If you’re looking for a cozy, comfortable, and well-located stay near the park, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

This was a great property between Hilo, Kilauea, and Punalu'u Beach. The property had everything we needed to make meals and we loved the separate twin beds for the kids. So nice being so close to the volcano, it made for easy access and a short drive after a day of hiking. Everyone loved the day bed on the porch and the wildlife that came to visit.
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cottage / house for four nights in September. We absolutely loved it. It's sparkling clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed. We did our own cooking, without eating out, so we really appreciated the kitchen. The owners put together a great "manual" with various procedures, activity recommendations, and more. The location is peaceful and perfect for visiting the National Park, Hilo, and the coast.

House was comfortable, conveniently located. Grounds were attractive, appreciated the games cabinet; bed was comfortable. Would happily return. The only negative was the wood stove for heating and kindling must have been wet- could not get a fire going.
We have now stayed 3 times in this home and totally love it! Perfect spot. Close to the park and volcano and Hilo. Quiet and can see the stars from the yard. The swinging bed is perfect for laying out and reading a book.

This house was adorable! Tucked into a private setting but only minutes from food, gas, parks and everything available in Volcano. The house was immaculate, super clean. Communication with the owner was easy and fast. The beds were comfortable, it was perfect for our quick 2 night trip to see Volcano National Park.
Lots of privacy with rainforest all around. We listened to the coqui frogs all night. Only a few minutes from the national park. Recently renovated with modern floors and windows. Nicely stocked kitchen but no dishwasher.

Our family was only on the Big Island for 5 nights. We spent 3 nights up in the Kona area, but wanted to spend 2 nights closer to the National Park. We found this gem and are so glad that we booked it. Communication with the hosts was seamless. The house itself was perfect. We actually wished we would have been able to stay longer. Everything was so clean, it had all the amenities that we needed, and the beds and pillows were really comfortable (which is huge for me). My daughter spent much of her time reading on the bed swing on the porch. The location to Volcanoes NP and the Hilo area was great. Would 100% recommend this house to anyone.
We absolutely loved staying at this sweet house. We fell asleep to the lullaby of nature and rain. We spent most of our time on the porch taking in cool breezes and slow moments. We were surprised with many extras in the house: beach toys, beach towels, games, umbrellas, spices, and much more. You made us feel right at home! We had a wonderful stay! Mahalo!

We had such a wonderful stay here. Such a cute little home. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We loved the privacy. The home was very clean and comfortable. Loved the decor as well. I have one recommendation: just need one more blanket for the big bed. We stayed at several hotels/resorts on the Big Island and this was, by far, our favorite place. The nearby restaurants are close but limited in number so make a reservation. We really enjoyed the KÄ«lauea Lodge Restaurant-great service and food.
