My family (spouse, myself and 3 kiddos) - stayed at Janine & Andrew's lovely home for a week and it was perfect for us! This property was perfect for our family of 5. Plenty of room and the best stocked kitchen we've ever seen! Ran into a little hiccup but the owner was quick to respond and solve the issue.
This was a perfect property to explore Big Island and was exactly described in the listing. The use of the car park at the beach club was a real bonus. I would recommend staying here to anybody.
This was an amazing place to stay! My wife was participating in the Ironman 70.3, and this place was a 15 minute walk to the location of the race. Another huge positive was having access to the Beach Club down the street. We couldn’t have been happier with this condo during our stay, and we definitely hope to stay here again when my wife races the half Ironman again!
We had such a nice time staying at Villa lava. The home had everything that we needed to make our stay relaxing and fun. Location was great and easy to get to nearby beaches. We look forward to staying again one day!
Look no further- this is the place! When we first booked our flights to Kona, I looked at all the hotels, various locations to stay, and many many many short term rentals. We finally landed on Villa Lava for the location and reviews. I’m excited to add another 5 star review to this property. Everything you need is here: kitchen is fully stocked, beach towels, so much beach gear, snorkels, wagon (perfect to load up for a day at the Mauna Lani beach club), along with small but meaningful things like a working bbq on the lanai, easy walk to the pool, comfy beds and pillows, top grade appliances, and owners that communicate easily. There are many condos in the area but we liked this one best for the close proximity to shops, but a smaller feeling- waking up to the birds, flowers, and trees everyday instead of seeing into our neighbors place is big for us. Having room to spread out, closets to unpack our things, and relaxing amenities is big for us. Receiving custom emails from an owner instead of automated messages is big for us. Communication was easy and the owners provide emails ahead of time to welcome you, prepare you, and help you find your way. We could not have had a better trip, and will absolutely book again.
Our whole family loved our stay. The villa had everything you would need and was set up amazingly well for young kids - comfortable beds, great pool, good AC and reliable WiFi. The Beach Club down the road was a great place for snorkelling and beach time. Shops are close by for essentials. Janine was a great host and I can’t wait to book again! Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your wonderful property. Located inside a gated community, close to the pool. Very quiet location. Very comfortable throughout, everything you need in the kitchen. Both bedrooms are upstairs, master bed very comfortable, large walk-in shower,double sink, large closet. Off of the mater bedroom is a deck that is private with a great view of the green landscape.I would rent this property on my next trip to the Bid Island.January 2025

This property was absolutely perfect! It had everything we needed and more! The location was the best especially compared to other vacation rentals. Having access to the private beach/club was key!! Communication with the owners was on point and the space was clean. We would book here again!
Our family of 4 loved this property so much! They do a great job of stocking it with everything you need (beach supplies, appliances, laundry detergent) so it makes it easy to travel light. The house is well maintained and has a lovely view of a garden. It’s also steps away from the community pool which was great for our two young kids.
We were also impressed with the communication; the house came with a helpful manual as well as well labeled without being too intense. We would definitely stay here again!
The villa was so homey and spotless. We had access to the garage and could use beach wagon for our towels, snorkel gear etc.

The home is well stocked with just about anything you’d need for your stay, including a garage full of fun beach and pool equipment. We are ready to go back!
Villa Lava was exactly as pictured - spacious, upscale, and well-appointed. Everyone we n was provided, from laundry supplies to everything you could want for a beach day. We enjoyed the spacious pool and we even used the community gym. Communication was fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
Probably bit more than one person needs, but the price was great for the location. It is very central to all our favourite beaches & resorts, and the Mauna Lani shops include a Foodland which makes grocery shopping a breeze. Would definitely stay again!
My husband and I love this villa! It has so many wonderful amenities and for us it was a great location to beaches, towns, and just exploring the island. Our host was fabulous and gave us so many suggestions and ideas. Definitely a return trip!
We rented this property for our son and his family and we rented a nearby unit for ourselves. It was perfect, beautiful setting, such a comfortable, well equipped unit. Great place for kids as they were close to the pool. Janine is such a great host and answered all the questions we had, mostly about activities for younger kids( our granddaughters are 3 & 6). Our 6 yr old’s comment at the end of the visit was “This is what I’ve dreamed about my whole life!” We hope to return next year and make this a family tradition.
Our family of four - my wife and I and 2 teens (15 and 13) stayed at Villa Lava for 9 days over Christmas 2023. Everything was perfect. The condo is great and exactly as shown in the listing. Check in was great and easy. The condo is right by the pool which we used most days after our excursions. We love the private beach club and the location to restaurants and beaches. The owner checked in on us often to make sure everything was running smoothly and was easy to contact. She provided great tips for arriving, things to do and places to see. We had the best time staying here on the Big Island and highly recommend it. We loved it!

This was a great place to stay, beautiful grounds and talk about quiet!! So, peaceful, the 2 1/2 bathrooms were great. Kitchen was well stocked with spices and utensils. We didn't cook, but we enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker. Parking was just a few yards away. Communication with the owner was great, they reached out to us to make sure things were satisfactory. They even gave us a dining recommendation in the area. This area of the island is very relaxing, a 10 minute walk up or down the street to the grocery and a quite a few restaurants. If you want chaos and stimulation stay close to Kailua Kona. I would recommend staying here for sure.

The spot is quiet and close to the community pool and gym. We loved the walkability to the nearby shopping center and resorts and the proximity to the best beaches on the Big Island. Plus the garage is stocked with snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas and coolers. Highly recommended !
