Makani Sands #302 is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2ba townhouse on the 3rd & 4th floors with 3 lanais with spectacular view. Quick access to our beach and BBQs. This beautiful condo is filled with art work by local Hawaiian artists. Gourmet kitchen with new sub zero freezer. Upstairs, master bedroom is on the ocean with a jacuzzi style tub and a private lanai on the ocean. Guest bedroom has queen bed and private bath, lanai has mountain views. Downstairs is a 3rd bedroom with twin beds that can be made into a king bed upon request. There is a sofa bed in the living room and a 1/2 bath off the hallway. New curtains in the living room and Tiger Bamboo floors upstairs. There is quick access to our beach for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling and there is a front row seat for whale watching during the winter months. We stayed on Maui to celebrate my wife, her mother, and grandmother who were all celebrating milestone birthdays this year. We had a great time. The property was incredible. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon after a delayed flight in and the process was super easy. Within 5 minutes of arriving, we'd already seen whales and sea turtles off the balcony. This would continue to be a feature for the entire trip. It's walking distance from many shops, restaurants, and recreation, and the well equipped kitchen makes it easy to save money by cooking some of your meals instead of going out. The beach and patio in the back are great and there are grills for cooking out. After long days of running around or hanging out at the beach, the heated pool was great to relax in and end the day. There was very little that wasn't answered ahead of time, but Tammy was available for any questions and was super friendly. If we had to offer any constructive criticism, it would be that the lights and AC sometimes seemed counterintuitive to use. Most likely it was user error and didn't hinder our experience in the least. We enjoyed many hours on the lanais watching the whales, turtles, sunsets, and stars. We'll definitely be back to Maui and when we do we'll be staying at Makani Sands!

Family of 5 adults - just the right size for us and can’t get a better view of the ocean. You can walk outside and go down a few steps and be in the ocean if you would like. Only downfall of the condo is that there is no room in twin bed room to put your luggage and things. A/C was hard to figure out how to work but we finally got it going as well. We would stay again when going to Maui

Nice property and great location. Amazing ocean views right from the lanai. Crazy amount of art work! Tammy made everything easier. She answered all our questions and was always easy to reach with any questions. Would definitely book here again!

I left a longer review on the property manager site, so I'll leave a shorter one here. This place is alllll about the views. It was incredible to watch whales and sea turtles right from the Lanai and listen to the waves as we fell asleep. My only wish is that there were more space to store our luggage and supplies. We loved the art, the location, the overall vibes and would definitely stay here again!

We had family meet from Japan, Colorado, and Connecticut in Maui for the first time since 2019. The condo itself was well situated despite the fire in Lahaina. The problem was with the dishwasher which appeared to be original to the condo. When we discussed with the front desk that it was not working, it appeared to be an issue which had been plaguing the previous visitors, and had been reported on before. So a handyman was sent over, who reported that it needed to be replaced. And in the process of inspecting it, he managed to loosen something, because for the next 2 days there was a constant leak in the kitchen, which made the tile turn into an ice skating rink. Each of the children staying in the condo managed to slip and fall at least once. When the front desk was informed of this, they were nonplussed. As this was new years eve it was difficult to get someone to come over but a handyman eventually made it and found the leak source. However, the dishwasher was never replaced and honestly, I doubt it ever will be. So good luck to the next set of occupants, anything advertising a functional dishwasher is probably a lie. Otherwise the place is nice but very dated, does not appear to have been renovated since the building was constructed.

We came in winter to see the whales and this place did not disappoint. Sitting on the lanai watching the whales swimming by was the most amazing part of our trip. You can also snorkel right outside the property which was nice. We will definitely be coming back again! Thank you.

My Ohana (family) flew to Maui from neighbor islands and the continent to attend a very special event. This temporary home away from home provided the perfect place for us. The decor is beyond what we could have imagined. The location is steps to the ocean. The simplicty of access to the condo and the check out process was so appreciated. The notebook of expectations was informative. I'm already making plans to return because my Ohana enjoyed themselves so much! Mahalo nui loa!

Makani Sands checked all the boxes. We wanted to be in a quiet location, on the beach and close to various stores and shops. The unit 302 was perfect for our group of 7. Nice to have AC. Check in and out was perfect with Tammy. Tammy was super responsive and on property if we needed anything. No complaints.

Our family loved the property! Their was 6 of us and we fit very comfortably in the condo. The views were something out of a magazine from our lanai. Tammy was easy to get ahold of with any questions. The only thing to really say was the condo was not stocked with toilet paper or paper towels, and their was only 4 bathroom towels so we had to keep washing, and the a/c was not working very well....but those things are minimal compared to the great location, the relaxing vibe, and the size of the condo was great. We would definitely recommend for anyone with families to enjoy. Hopefully we will be back soon!
