The space
As you pull up to this grand cedar style home you are immediately greeted by a beautiful rainforest that feels calming and relaxing. Walk down the gravel pathway surrounded by native Ohi'a trees and Hapu'u plants hovering over you like an umbrella of nature to reach the hot tub or take a few steps up to your private suite. There is a small covered patio for you and your guests. This suite is off to the far corner and is very private from the other rooms.
As you enter your room you are instantly greeted by nature with huge glass windows looking out to your very own Hawai'i forest. The room has a Queen size bed for two and two twin beds for extra guests. The room is equipped with a small kitchen stocked with basic cooking essentials like pots, pans, cooktop, utensils, and a griddle for breakfast in the morning. There is a small coffee bar with a medium-sized fridge and a microwave. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings or have a romantic dinner as you sit at your own private table. The room has its own bathroom with a shower and tub. There is an electric heater to warm you up on those cold Volcano nights. A wall-mounted TV for those that want to relax and watch a movie.
Visitors come to the Big Island to explore the volcano and beautiful black sand beaches. Take a four wheel drive up Mauna Kea and visit the second largest mountain in the world or take a drive down to Waipi'o Valley to take a refreshing dip in the ocean as you visit the Valley of the Kings. Cruise around the island in a day and see what this "Big island" has to offer.

The property was super clear and easy to access. You are literally minutes from the national park visitor center, which was important for us. We were nervous about the water situation but it was truly no big deal! The hosts left 5 gallons of drinking water which was more than enough. If you're looking for an affordable place to base out of to do volcano national park, I would strongly recommend this spot!!!

We loved staying at this beautiful little cottage in the jungle! It was clean and comfortable. The windows have a great view of the jungle. The property was gorgeous and the path to the hot tub was wonderful to stroll through. The hot tub was excellent and had beautiful nature views as well. Lots of flowers around! Our spot felt very private and we couldn’t hear people in the other units. Very enjoyable overall!
