Hale Kai Hawaii Suites offers four oceanfront rooms (booked individually) and a spectacular, panoramic view of the blue Pacific Ocean and Hilo Bay. We overlook the popular Honolii surfing beach in a peaceful location just 2 miles north of historic Hilo Town. Revel in the best views in Hilo while at our pool and oceanfront lanai!
The Pele Suite offers a garden view bedroom with California king bed and separate ocean view sitting room with a Hawaiian style loveseat, table and chairs, kitchenette (portable one burner cooktop, microwave, small fridge/freezer, coffee maker, hot water pot, dishes, utensils, pots and pans), WiFi, SMART TV, private bathroom with shower, ceiling fans, portable fan, no air conditioning, and sliding door to lanai. Please note: Sitting room has ocean view, bedroom has view of small walkway garden. Continental breakfast items are stocked daily and we invite all guests to swim in the pool or lounge on the oceanfront lanai.
A few NOTES: One parking spot is provided per room in this quiet residential neighborhood. All Guest Rooms are facing the ocean on the lower level of the property and there are over 20 steps down (pictured) to traverse to the rooms. Guests are responsible for carrying their luggage to their rooms. Bookings limited to 2 guests per room (age 13 years and over). Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am for the comfort of all of our guests, Mahalo!
While at Hale Kai (House on the Ocean) Hawaii, enjoy watching surfers, dolphins, and seasonal humpback whales during their annual migration to the Hawaiian Islands from the north Pacific. The property is very nice and cozy. Not fancy, but very workable and clean. Appreciated the daily breakfast muffins and the coffee. View from the patio is great and the pool is just big enough to cool off. The hot tub was set way too high at 104, so we did not use it. The bed was comfy. Overall a great place to stay for the value. Aloha

The views were gorgeous, loved sunrise and watching the surfers from our deck. The property was a little dated but that’s what I expected, so no surprise. Quite a bargain for the location and views and breakfast included.

Loved the Pele suite. lots of room and the view is fantastic. Sitting outside over the pool watching the surfers is great. Very quiet and the grounds are lovely. Breakfast of muffins and fruit fresh every morning was a nice touch. Pool and hot tub are nice and since only 4 rooms here always empty.
Only 5 min from downtown Hilo and all the shops and food choices.
