    Location is everything!

The Red Ginger is a compact studio apartment with its own private balcony providing a city view of Waikiki. With historic Waikiki Beach is just outside the hotel lobby, the Red Ginger makes a perfect home base for exploring Honolulu and the rest of Oahu.

An expansive roof deck on top of the hotel, just one floor above the studio, provides a bird's eye view of Diamond Head. There are lounge chairs for sunbathing and tables for alfresco dining. No one else in Waikiki has a better view of the sun setting into the Pacific. Kapiolani Park is just across the street and offers the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, the Royal Hawaiian Bandstand, tennis courts, soccer fields, archery ranges, weekend art shows and the city's Sunset on the Beach free concerts and movies - all this in its 500 green acres.

One of the main reasons for coming to Hawaii is of course the sun and sand. Surfing, stand up board paddling, outrigger canoeing, swimming and simply lounging on the beach are all just a few steps from the Red Ginger.

Hawaii is the crossroads of the Pacific and its culinary offerings reflect that abundantly, so while the Red Ginger Suite has a kitchen and microwave, you are a short walk away from countless cafes and restaurants catering to every taste and price range. Similarly, if you can get yourself out of the water and away from the beach there is a lot of shopping to be done in Waikiki, and the many other shopping venues just a short drive away.

The Red Ginger is located at the end of Waikiki. Kapahulu Avenue provides easy access to the freeway, and makes getting in and out of the area very easy because you avoid all the traffic in the heart of Waikiki. This is perfect for when you decide to explore the rest that Oahu has to offer.

This property was exactly as described: beach across the street, walkable to shopping and restaurants, inexpensive, tasty mai tais with sunset views at Hula’s on the second floor, and a rooftop deck with unobstructed sunrise views of Diamond Head. Kevin, the owner, was responsive and informative. He also knew we were arriving late and made sure to provide coffee for the morning. We would be happy to stay here again.

The property is close to the beach and restaurants in Waikiki. If you don't have a car, there are 3 bus stops with 5 minutes of the hotel.

I grew up in Kapahulu and this was the perfect place for my partner and I to stay. It was walking distance to my family home and a great location for Waikiki restaurants and bars. Best of both worlds! Will definitely rent to stay again!

Location was great but room was small and unattractive. Floor was dirty and last tenant's wash cloth was still in the bathtub, which makes one wonder how well it was cleaned before we arrived.

I struggled to decide whether to book the Red Ginger as I wanted Hawaii to be absolutely amazing and knew that anything other than a fancy hotel comes with risks. Luckily I followed through with the booking because the place was incredible. Upon first arrival my partner and I didn't know what to think as the suite was small and minimalistic, but we soon found that it was the perfect fit. It was quiet, had no bugs, had a comfortable bed, contained well functioning air conditioning, and had the most amazing views of the beach and crater you can imagine (from the 10th floor deck). It was far better than being up waikiki in the busy hotel district and was just steps away from the pristine beach. The owner was extremely helpful and provided a package that contained area specific information and useful tips. He also responded to any inquires ridiculously fast. This place is excellent for any couples looking for a getaway and my partner and I can't wait to return to this hidden gem.

I've visited Oahu nearly a dozen times staying in various accommodations. Staying in the Red Ginger was perfect for me. Just at the edge of Waikiki, I can move into the hustle and bustle of tourist central or head out into Oahu with ease! The room has a tub/shower bathroom, kitchenette with microwave and two-burner stovetop for cooking, as well as a nice sielze fridge, dishes and utensils, cookware and coffee maker. The staff are great, the room was perfect, it beat out every hotel (by price and offerings) easily. I will definitely stay here again!

Great location and excellent host, Kevin responded very quickly to questions. Property is smaller than anticipated and needed more thorough cleaning. Staff in hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Great host with great communication. So great to be on the edge of Waikiki across the street from the less crowded Queens Beach. Roof top sun deck is awesome! Very friendly building staff

It was short walk to the condo after finishing the Honolulu Marathon. And to the beach the next day to recover. Condo had everything I needed for my visit to Honolulu.
