The Waikiki Grand has a great location near the beach and the zoo and the park. If you like living without air conditioning it is quite noisy with street traffic and the bar on the second floor. The view of the ocean and Diamond Head is fantastic!
False and misleading advertising and listing for the room. Is not a private residence, is a condotel. There is a nightclub a block down and a bar on the second floor so dont expect to get any sleep. Staff and host are entirely u helpful in adressing issues. Room was not clean, someone elses trash under the dresser, no room service, leaking ac, regular window doesnt open, not a real kitchenette as advertised(was a microwave on top of a nightstand type cabinet and a coffee pot on top of a mini fridge, no parking unless you book waaaaay in advance, ice machine is disgusting if you actually look into it where the ice is formed. I booked this as a private studio apartment, not a hotel, arrived to find a hotel. They lease through various agents and companies, staff arent even sure what room belongs to who, will not give you accurate parking information and are not hospitable at all. When bringing up issues with the staff i was told "its a free country" and that staff can say whatever info they want to people. Overall, a really awful experience and would not recommend to anyone.
Forth floor, almost immediately above a restaurant/bar - didn‘t know. Food stench and gut-wrenching boombox noise until midnight. Road noise from car and motorcycle idiots to screaming pedestrians. Window AC on all night just to try to drown out the noise. Only two wall plugs available, others consumed by all kinds of gear or altogether broken. Two memorable nights only in how horrible they were. Checked out one night early and got a grown-up place instead. Maybe OK if you are young and rowdy and don‘t much sleep, stay away otherwise.
Good location in town, but sadly bad location for the room as it is right over the bar!!! Music was playing till early in the morning. We were not able to sleep! Also, no countertop to put any of your items on in the sink area,
Terrible room. Very small and dirty. The room is above a bar with noise and loud music until 2:00 am.

Read before you book.
My husband and I were on our 15th anniversary and his birthday. We reserved this room based on the description of newly remodeled and the view from the balcony.
Check in was good room was not. It was not as pictured room was not newly remodeled it was dirty and balcony was nasty the air conditioner water catcher was full Hadn’t been empty in a month.
The inside of the room was dirty, Room was set up for the air conditioner to point right at the head of the bed so finding a way to divert the airflow from the bed was a trick with out turning it off completely too hot for that. The remote control would only work if you were standing directly in front of the TV.
There is an open space bar 2 floors below that parties until 3am so sleeping is not an option until the bar closes as the patio door also does not close properly and allows noise to flow through along with other air gaps and in insulated areas windows.
I contacted the owner he asked what they could do to make it better and then never responded. I have pictures of the dirty room floor (I had to clean the floors as soon as we arrived due to sand on the floors). The room was out dated the only good I can find is it was a close walk to the beach.
Really enjoyed the stay. Property was just as described and very close to the beach.
I'm not a complainer, but this property had so many things wrong.
The room was uncomfortable. No comfortable chairs for relaxing. The deck chairs were slightly more comfortable, but seat pads flat. For a two-week stay that is pretty awful and unacceptable. We went there to relax.
Floors were filthy!
TV wouldn't work. It came on, but no changing channels, no volume, etc.
No remote in the entire unit worked.
Not adequate workspace in the "kitchen" area. All the usable workspace was taken up by appliances. The table was not available workspace because it was needed to keep personal items off the dirty floor.
One dresser drawer (2nd down on the right side) was completely broken. That was reported by us when we arrived to the phone number we were given (along with the TV not working). We were told the guest host would call us back but we never heard anything from anyone.
Air conditioner catch pan was full to overflowing when we arrived. We received a complaint call from the desk that it was dripping on the unit below. Fix it
Air conditioner warning light- filter needs cleaning.
The decor in the room was nothing like the picture. Just uninviting and blah.
NOISY. ALL NIGHT.
When I called as directed to indicate we had checked out, I received a message saying no one was available. I called 4 times and received the same message.
The two positives I can give. The bed was comfortable. The view was great.
I wouldn't stay there again.

Great Location!
The room is very old and dirty, on 2nd floor is the bar open till 2am so in the room is very loud every day. I nat recommend.
We had all the necessities provided. The staff were friendly and helpful. Access to buses and trollies and the beach and shopping was awesome and easy. The biggest downside was the noise level due to the types of windows but you get used to it.
Great location but very noisy from Hulas bar and traffic.
We chose this place because it seemed like the best value based on our preferences. I think we chose well and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone on a budget who cares about location and view.
We were right at the end of the Waikiki strip, a block from the beach and our balcony looked right out over the zoo and park with an absolutely glorious view of diamond head. Each morning we had coffee on the balcony in the comfy chairs, taking in the inspirational view, and glancing down to our right to watch the surfers catching waves. There’s even a thoughtfully placed mirror in the room by the window so you can see the reflection of the beach from various places in the room.
The room itself was furnished in a basic manner: nothing fancy but everything was there—even more than we had hoped for. The room had 2 sets of beach chairs and an umbrella which came in handy, extra beach towels, a broom and vacuum to keep up with the constant flow of sand coming off our clothes. We asked for a water kettle because we brew lots of coffee and they provided us one. The air conditioner was a bit on the noisy side but we never found it necessary, perhaps the tile helped keep the room cool enough. There was a bit of a funky smell to the room, but it didn’t bother me.
Others have complained about the noise from the bar below. For us, it wasn’t anything that really bothered us but we’ve lived in several noisy apartment.

For a Waikiki visit this place was fantastic! Just steps from a great beach park and you are right at the beginning of Waikiki. Since you are right next to the zoo you get a nice view and it doesn't feel too "city." The street below is busy and as others mentioned there is an open air bar a couple floors down. With the AC going it never kept us awake and if you are planning to stay in Waikiki you should expect some sort of noise regardless of where you are at anyway. I was a little nervous at first but it really wasn't an issue. Just be aware it is a bar not so much a restaurant so its open until 2am.
The room itself was extremely clean. This is an older hotel but they are doing a great job upkeeping it and keeping it feeling clean and new. I never saw one bug (which is usually how we rate our Hawaii visits) and you could tell they do a thorough cleaning regularly. They provided plenty of towels and toilet paper. A few items for light meal prep which was great and very handy. The only sharp knife was a very small one which made cutting up a pineapple a little difficult but not impossible. They had silverware, a couple plates, bowls, and a hot plate with a couple pans. With the addition of a coffee pot (filters included), microwave, and mini fridge it was extremely handy. The balcony seemed small from the pictures but plenty of room for two people. The pool was just ok doesn't really get any sun but nice furniture poolside.
I would definitely stay here again!
