    Welcome to Kumulani at Mauna Kea where the beauty of the Big Island's golden Kohala Coast awaits you. Our spacious condominium is ideal for families and couples, and it offers gorgeous ocean and sunset views. We have recently redecorated and refurbished the unit, adding to the overall comfort and experience for our guests.

    Highlights of this condo include:
    -Quiet and large (1,500+ square feet) top-floor unit overlooking Hapuna Golf Course with immaculate ocean and sunset views from throughout the space
    -Two (2) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, and a den with fold-out sofa to accommodate up to five (5) guests
    -400+ square foot wraparound outdoor lanai, covered and furnished with lounge chairs and dining table and chairs
    -Primary bedroom with walk-in closet, en suite shower and tub
    -Full kitchen with cherry wood cabinetry, granite counter tops, new appliances, and a full array of cookware and dishware

    All guests can enjoy the wonderful public areas of both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna hotels and their beaches. In addition, resort privileges are available which means that guests at our condo can enjoy all of the wonders of both of these five-star resorts (more details on the resort costs and amenities can be found below under 'Other Amenities').

    The Mauna Kea and the Hapuna hotels feature:

    -Two championship golf courses
    -Swimming pools overlooking the beaches - new pools at Hapuna - check out their website

    With resort access, guests can enjoy full privileges at both Mauna Kea and Hapuna hotels as if they are hotel guests. Privileges include:

    -tennis at hotel guest rate
    -resort signing privileges
    -fitness center

    The rate for Beach Club privileges is set for 2024 at $120 per day up to 30 days with discounts available for stays beyond 30 days. Please note that this fee is in addition to rental fees, and guests contract directly with the hotels for this service. The rate is set by the hotel and is subject to change in 2025.

    We stayed in the unit for about 2 weeks in March 2023 and the unit was fantastic and had no issues with the unit. Great location, well set up.

    Our family group of five adults had a fantastic stay at Eric and Polly’s condo. Everything was as described and shown in the pictures— except that nothing could capture the beautiful peace and quiet of the spot. We loved having the kitchen and space to relax, the lanai was dreamy, and the access to our favorite resorts worked as well as we’d hoped. Eric, Polly and Wendee were all very responsive though we never had any problems, as everything worked perfectly and all instructions were clear. A beautifully cared for condo in a fantastic spot. Very highly recommended!

    The setting of this condo is wonderful with expansive views and a quiet area adjoining a golf course. The unit, however is showing signs of aging with old carpet, aging furniture and beds. The second bedroom is hardly fit to be a bedroom with a closet jammed with junk making it almost impossible to use and the twin beds were just pushed together without support resulting in the beds just sliding apart. Although listed as a two bedroom unit it is really only a one bedroom functionally unless little children are using the second bedroom. I would happily stay in this complex again but would not choose this unit unless it was renovated and added cable TV. It’s just not worth it.

    We spent a lovely and relaxing two weeks at Polly & Eric’s stylishly furnished and comfortable condo. There was more than enough seating on the lanai and the living/dining areas which allowed each of us to have our own space when needed. The kitchen is well equipped with enough cookware and dinnerware to host a dinner party (which we did a few times with family and local friends). This is our third time renting a unit in The Kumulani. We love the location with its access to the Mauna Kea and Hapuna resorts, as well as the proximity to our favorite dive operator in Kawaihae Harbor. We hope to be able to rent this unit again. It really did become our home on the Kohala Coast!
