I’m writing this review as I sit on the beautiful lanai of this property watching the waves gently crash on the rocks directly below my view. What a dream vacation. Kona has lots to offer travelers, and we took full advantage of the Big Island and all its virtues. As for the property, it was wonderful. Do not believe all the negative reviews. This condo is worn and well-loved, but it was not filthy or unusable. The hard floors were dirty when we arrived, but there is a stocked cleaning closet, so guess what; I did a quick mop and we were good to go. The appliances are old, but functional. Bed linens and bathrooms were clean and carpets were vacuumed. There is air-conditioning, which was a blessing in this humidity, but when it’s running, the lanai gets too hot to use, so that was a balance-act. All in all, it was a perfect setting for our vacation, and would definitely rent at the Surf and Racquet Club again.

Rundown very dirty condo. Needs lots of cleaning and updating. Carpet was horrible and deck furniture was unusable! Towels old and ragged and pans in kitchen unusable. We purchased new glasses and pans to use during our 2 week stay! We stay at the Surf and Racquet Club every year, it is exceptionally beautiful, but never rented this condo and would not again.

Unit overlooks the ocean and was perfect for watching the sun rise and set. We saw whales and spinner dolphins from the lani. Unit does need some upkeep, but nothing to serious. Would definitely stay here again

The condo has a great view and had plenty of space for 4 of us. We enjoyed our stay . Just know going in (as we did) that this place has a lot miles on it. We had no major problems, but a handyman could spend a week or so tweaking sliding doors on the closets and master shower, the vertical blinds, electrical outlets, tv remotes, deck chairs … well you get the picture. On the plus side, the bed mattresses are decent, there are lots of beach toys in the closet and the top floor ocean view location is priceless.

The location is wonderful. The condo seemed a little scroungy. The pans to cook with were horrible. Food stuck to everything. The air-conditioning was nice to have. We had enough room as well.
