We are located on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii, directly above Kailua-Kona, on the side of Mt Hualalai, in Holualoa, with an awesome ocean and coastline view! Please read our reviews because the view from the cottage lanai is better than we can describe in words!
Our custom built studio cottage is about 500 sq. feet with a roomy wide lanai, and special bistro high seating to enjoy the fabulous ocean view. MUST see to appreciate!
The cool elevation of our cottage is 1400 ft. with a beautiful view of the coastline over Honokohau Harbor. The sunsets we get to enjoy are incredible! The coqui frogs will sing to you in the early eve but quiet down during the middle of the night. Some call them them "night singing birds".
Holualoa town itself, is a small quaint art village now, and a classic old small Hawaiian town with lots of history. Holualoa area is a very preferred area to stay and live because of the cooler temperatures, Kona coffee country all around, coastline views, and it's close proximity to town.
There are several events in our village including "First Fridays" each month when local artists, musicians, food booths and more are all along the streets through Holualoa Town. We love Holualoa and know you will too!...

Enjoyed the serene, safe environment. Nice breeze from ocean, great view. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Nice amenities for a couple or a lone traveler. Walk to Monarch coffee farm. Will definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Billy and Berta’s gorgeous cottage. It far exceeds the rental listing photos. Very friendly hosts greeted us on arrival and saw us off upon our departure. This is a very well-appointed accommodation with everything one could need, and more, for a very comfortable stay. Fantastic lanai with epic, expansive view and stunning sunsets. Very private and quiet. Will be returning to stay again without hesitation.

My wife and I are fortunate to have visited Hawaii more than 20 times, with at least 20 stays in a VRBO. No matter how nice or clean, you can nitpick something. Maybe it’s a loud neighborhood, parking is crowded or just an inconvenient location.
This place was perfect for us!
We loved the cottage, so much that by the end of our stay we were scheduling to be on the lanai in the evening to watch the sunset. Relaxing, perfect temperature. The cottage was clean and inviting, beautifully landscaped. My wife and I have back issues, but the bed was very comfortable. We felt secluded and safe. The location is convenient to all of Kona. The Tommy Bahama chairs and umbrella were like new.
Berta and Billy were kind and friendly.
I’ve wracked my brain trying to think of a negative and I’ve got TWO things; one, we didn’t get to meet the dogs and cat and two, we had to leave.

My friend and I really enjoyed staying at the ohana. The space was very clean. I really appreciate it all the extra touches that were provided by the hosts. The cooler weather made all the difference and I would definitely stay here again.
