Property Description
We are located on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii, directly above Kailua-Kona, on the side of Mt Hualalai, in Holualoa, with an awesome ocean and coastline view! Please read our reviews because the view from the cottage lanai is better than we can describe in words!
Our custom built studio cottage is about 500 sq. feet with a roomy wide lanai, and special bistro high seating to enjoy the fabulous ocean view. MUST see to appreciate!
The cool elevation of our cottage is 1400 ft. with a beautiful view of the coastline over Honokohau Harbor. The sunsets we get to enjoy are incredible! The coqui frogs will sing to you in the early eve but quiet down during the middle of the night. Some call them them "night singing birds".
Holualoa town itself, is a small quaint art village now, and a classic old small Hawaiian town with lots of history. Holualoa area is a very preferred area to stay and live because of the cooler temperatures, Kona coffee country all around, coastline views, and it's close proximity to town.
There are several events in our village including "First Fridays" each month when local artists, musicians, food booths and more are all along the streets through Holualoa Town. We love Holualoa and know you will too!

We had a great stay here on the back half of our vacation. Great views from the lanai, great shower pressure, and a nicely done cottage. The short drive was worth it to be outside and above the town where it was quieter and cooler. The frogs were intense but didn't keep us awake, almost like a white noise machine. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone exploring the Kona area.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It offers a stunning coastline view and we watched the beautiful sunset almost every day, which was really relaxing. We would love to return and stay here again on our next visit!

We stayed here a few nights for our Kona side of our trip. The online photos are great, but it looks even better in person. The owners were very friendly and take immaculate care of the property. We would stay here again.

It was great until the owner came by the last day around 9:00 asking us when we were leaving and I said the checkout time at 11:00. He said he has another person coming that day with an attitude. I did not say anything, but we paid to 11:00 and not my problem that he had another client coming in . It just messed up a great time and great place they have and they had been very nice up until then.

Stayed 5 nights here after 5 nights on the east side. Studio was perfect - just the right amount of space for the two of us. Decorated very nice, comfortable bed, clean, had everything you needed, peaceful view of the awesome sunsets from the veranda. Wonderful hosts! Highly recommend!

This place was very clean and had beautiful sky views. We watched an amazing lightening storm one morning, a display of double rainbows the next morning and then watched the setting full moon on the third morning. It is very close to everything in Kona/Kailua.

Very cozy, clean, and welcoming cottage. Location was central for exploring up and down the coast. Host was very easy to communicate with. Many amenities were included which made the stay even more pleasant. Had wonderful sunset views and I loved hearing the chirping birds through the day and frogs at night. Grounds are attractive and front porch is great to relax and or eat outside. I would definitely stay there again.

Billy and Berta were amazing hosts!! This place has everything you need for an amazing stay in Holualoa. The frogs offered a great natural white noise to sleep to, but they also have ear plugs available if they are too loud for their guests. Beach gear, snorkel gear, beach towels, iron, ironing board, French press, coffee grinder, water kettle, extra fans, detergent, after-sun…were just a few of the things available we took advantage of. It’s way from the tourist areas, but still close enough to enjoy the restaurants if you want.
But there are a ton of wonderful shops down the road headed south, including a sweet bread stand that you need to stop at (look for the red flags).
We visited in October so it got a little cold at night, but the hosts already had extra blankets available. And while there is no AC, the island is easily your AC - just open the windows and leave them open.
Zero negative feedback. Seriously, BOOK IT.
