Great spot and location - close to everything they were super nice
We loved this place! Location is ideal, owners are friendly, the property is very nice, especially for a small group that’s wanting to be close together but not in the same room. The outside kitchen/dining area is one of the best we’ve ever seen, though we never really utilized it, other than just having a seat while munching on something we bought from mana. Great hosts and very friendly, we’ll be back for sure. We only have one negative side to our review, the owners live upstairs and when they and the children walk or run around the house, it will wake you up from a dead sleep even if you’re a heavy sleeper. We wore our noise cancelling headphones and were able to tolerate it but you could still hear the feet hitting the ground through the headphones like it was an elephant. I really hate to write anything that would deter guests from staying here because it was a great stay for us but if I must write a review, I must be honest.
The property was very well maintained and the owners extremely thoughtful about necessities away from home. There were two sets of washers and dryers accessible to all so pack light! The landscaping was beautiful which also allowed you to relax at home for a bit - you could be outside but didn’t have to be “out”. The most thoughtful aspect of the accommodation was the access to a shower and towels even after check out. This is key because it allows you to make full use of your last day since flights back to the mainland are often at night. Walkability to Paia town was also much appreciated because we had quick, easy access to restaurants and shops.
We loved Dave, Nyla and their son Max's place! They are warm, and welcoming and made our trip a memorable one. Three of us stayed in the Large Studio, myself, and my two teenage children. We had plenty of room, and the kitchen and bathroom are both large and well stocked. The place is immaculate, and the decor is lovely. They supply everything you'd need for snorkeling and surfing, and an abundance of beach towels, umbrellas, coolers, bug spray and sunscreen. There are super cute, well mannered pets on site, which helped make it feel like we were staying at a home, instead of a hotel. They have the most gorgeous, lush green garden, with mango, banana, avocado, coconut and tomatoes growing on their property, and the hot tub ain't bad either....
Laundry facility is on site and so helpful!
Walk to downtown is about 10-15 minutes, and walk to beach a little further. I recommend driving to the beach as the beaches in the area tend to get very windy, so you may need to pack up and move to another beach further down the island. We had no trouble parking at any of the beaches we visited. Thank you so much for everything and we look forward to returning one day soon....
Our stay at Mangolani was perfect! We stayed in a first floor studio just remodeled and professionly decorated with a modern yet homey feel. The house is situated on beautiful grounds with a hot-tub to soak in every night. The kitchen was stocked beyond belief, better than ours at home and we love to cook! Laundry, extra linens, anything you might need for your beach outing is all on site. We love the location, a quick walk to Mana Foods for gluten, vegan, healthy foods is .6miles away. We enjoyed coffee in the morning listening to the wind chimes or took it to go to the nearby beach. We love the locals in Paiu and getting away from the tourist noise and movement of Kehei and Kannapali. The owner, Dave is always on site, responds to any concerns instantly as was a great host. We are booking again soon for next January!!
