This was a last minute booking for my husband and II. We knew we wanted to stay in Hanalei, but inventory was low and properties that were available were all much bigger than we needed. I found this listing and reviews on both major booking apps before finding it managed by StayKauai. As vacation rental owners ourselves, we prefer to book direct for best pricing and personal service. While the cottage can fit six comfortably, it was great for the two of us- we each had a bathroom and the master with King bed was very comfortable. The Kitchen has everything for cooking and basic seasonings (not sure there is a blender?). the ac units worked well, and the bathrooms, towels, linens and floors are very clean. With just a little refreshing (rusty dryer lid, futon cushions showing wear, adding small selection of board games, puzzles) this would hands down be 5/5 all around. Note: I’m picky, stay at vacation rentals around the world, and am a reviewer in the hospitality space. I mention the few things for the owners and because we compared many properties. Furnishings here are fairly basic, still lovely and we have No hesitation in recommending this cottage! We rented bikes and snorkel gear for the week in town, we walked or rode to dinner (Tahiti Nui for live music and fun vibe, AMA for beautiful outside views and yummy ramen and cocktails, Hanalei Bread Company daily for coffee, pastries, and/or breakfast, the Dolphin for fish and sushi). we picked up avocados and star fruit from a neighbors free front yard stand, bought eggs at a farm down the road, and woke early every day to the local roosters crowing. . . it was fabulously local! during a crowded week, we were close to everything yet out of the fray, enjoying the beach, hiking nearby Haena State Park, and sitting on the front porch watching morning rainbows or playing cards outside at night. This would be a great place for a family with a few kids, or two couples. Loved it!
Perfect location to walk to town or to the beach. The house was even prettier in person. For a group of five people it was the perfect set up. 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. I would recommend this rental to others and I can’t wait to come back. The beach in Hanelai is stunning with the mountains Near by.

We loved this place so much. The location was perfect, the communication was great, all of the amenities were spot on. It was a great fit for our family (two adults and three kids)--we will definitely be back.

Our stay in Hanalei was perfect and we'd go back in a second and likely will. The home was the perfect mix of great location, old world Hawaii feel, with no compromises on the modern comforts or cleanliness.
Amazing beach house within walking distance from Hanalei bay. We very much enjoyed our time there and would stay again.

We loved our stay here! The house was very clean, the beds and pillows and bedding were all super comfy, which is not always the case in house rentals. The location was awesome, we walked to dinner every night and easy walk to the beach. The master shower never got very hot so we had to use the outdoor shower, which is a great shower. A few little issues that we brought up with management and she addressed very quickly. The layout is- master suite off the kitchen with bedroom, bathroom and laundry. In the other side of the house are two bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has two twins, the other has a queen. We were in the front house and there’s a second house behind, so we’d wave to the guests as they came and went but still had lots of privacy. We spent a lot of time on the large covered front porch, watching the rain and drinking coffee or cocktails. I’d definitely stay here again!
