Love this property! We stayed in the small cottage last time and the larger one this time. We could see the sunrise every morning, it was amazing. Very private, well tended, beautiful location. Thank you!!
We walked through the front door and immediately left the property. Very dirty, cobwebs everywhere, potentially mold on surfaces, and crumbs in the counter. The bathroom was also very badly discolored and could use a very deep cleaning.
Amazing property/location. Far enough to be away from the tourist traps & resorts & close enough for daily adventures with near by secluded beaches. Fabulous stay with everything we needed at the cottage. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic hideaway in the hills, tranquil with constant cool sea breezes -- far from the crowds and tourists, a true getaway to chill and close to lots of great beaches and snorkel spots on the east shore. We spent a perfect week and would have loved to stayed longer.
Many VRBO reviews mention that they enjoyed the property so much that they plan to return again in the future. We loved everything about our stay in Diana’s cottage so much that we actually just finished our second visit in just under a year. Based on the many return visitors who signed the guest book, we are not the only ones who feel this way!Other reviews outline the property details, so I will limit this one to say that she has created a very special place that feels like home in an exceptional setting. And yes, we are already planning our next stay!!
This property was perfect for our little island getaway. It was secluded but within a good distance from all the island events. Definitely rustic. Make sure you are okay with bugs, lizards and chickens. Bug spray is going to be your best friend.

We loved our stay on Mahinani's Farm! The setting was beautiful, with the mountains as a backdrop, and the ocean down the hill out front. The cottage was a perfect getaway for my husband and me. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we loved having beach chairs and umbrellas and a cooler provided for our use! The location was great, as we were easily able to visit sites on the coconut coast as well as the north shore. We accessed many beaches easily. I loved the calm serenity of the location. Watching the sunrises from the front patio was a highlight! I would definitely come back! Thank you!

Our daydreams are filled with memories of our stay at the cottage! What a beautiful and peaceful place to be. During our stay, we walked from the cottage down to Anahola Beach, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything about the cottage and surrounding garden it’s so very pretty. Also, great original art featured throughout.Our daydreams will continue!
From booking to check-out, this experience was a dream and full of aloha. We had the most magnificent stay at this sweet cottage, and definitely left pieces of our hearts there in Anahola. Location was perfect. With a rental car, we could easily drive anywhere we wanted to go on the island within an hour. Our favorite beaches were under 5 minutes away. Kapa'a was a really fun town with shopping, restaurants, and delicious shave ice, also super close. The cottage itself held everything we were seeking: peace, solitude, comfort, and joy. The cottage had spectacular views of mountains and ocean. Logistically, the host thought of everything, from beach gear to coffee beans (thank goodness), with just enough of everything we needed. Mahalo for a beautiful experience that we will definitely book again when we return to Kauai. We couldn't imagine booking elsewhere!
What a lovely place - we felt so at home and had everything we needed. Loved that beach accessories like chairs, snorkel gear, cooler, etc were there to use. The house felt so secluded and we enjoyed that it was a bit off the beaten path. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I loved staying at this cozy cottage. From the drive up we were stunned by the mountain view behind the house. When at the home you are surrounded by the chirping of birds and crowing of roosters that transports to an island paradise feel. The house looked updated from the listing photos with lovely natural light, a nice open kitchen and cement flooring throughout. It was equipped with everything we needed for the stay including beach chairs and boogie boards which we really appreciated having. There was also a supply of sunscreen, bug sprays and after sun cream which came in handy as well. Diana was always quick and kind in her responses and communication. Like the listing mentions we saw a few small lizards and bugs but nothing scary or out of the norm. The house did get warm but there are many fans and with the doors and windows open we were able to keep it comfortable during our February stay. Having this cozy home to come back to at the end of an adventurous day was very relaxing. It really started to feel like home and we were sad to leave at the end of the week. Would definitely recommend this home to others if you're looking for a relaxing, dreamy stay in Kauai.
Nice quiet place away from the crowds. Great location to explore the island by car. The cottage had all the items needed for a day at the beach. Very clean. Backyard was great. Enjoyed the chickens and roosters and sunrises every morning.
We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Don’t care for the hub bub, busyness. We could not have asked for a more perfect stay. Just wished it was longer. Had all the amenities one could ask for, and then some. If the Lord continues to bless us, we will be back.
This was such a fun and authentic place to stay! We loved it! Being secluded was really nice and the views were fantastic! We had everything we needed and beach days were great with the supplied beach items (chairs/umbrella/cooler/mat/towels). Highly recommend!
This cozy cottage had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. The only things we missed were our pets, however, there were plenty of chickens and a kitty that visited every day that made it easier :) The location was perfect, centrally located (yet secluded) for all the activities we had planned all over the island. Diana was the perfect host and has thought of everything! Hope to return!
We had been dreaming about the day we got to return to Kauai, and specifically based our trip dates around availability of this sweet little cottage. Having stayed in it 7 years prior, we knew it was the only place we'd want to stay on the island. Peaceful and tucked away from the busier towns, this little cottage is just a perfect home base for your adventures! Diana (host) is so kind and the property is just lovely. We can't wait to return!
Could not have been happier with this great little, very private cottage with a big back lawn looking out at the ocean. Not to mention the gorgeous mountain backdrop. What a wonderful pleasure to come home to every day and have a peaceful place to relax! Would recommend to anyone!
A little slice of heaven away from the resort scene. Beautiful sunrises, deep tranquillity, views of ocean and mountains. Great location for exploring the rest of the island. Lovely walks on the coastal bike/walking path (just 10 minutes away by car). Spending hours in the hammock in the yard, reading, napping, listening to the birds and the sound of the ocean. I never want to go back home.

We stayed here for about two weeks. It went by in a blink of an eye. I would come back here in a heartbeat if I could. This house was so charming and peaceful. It really made you feel like we were apart of the true Kauai lifestyle. 100% would pick this, over a resort any day. I miss the chickens already.
The perfect place to recover and chill after adventures in during the day. This place is very private and really gives you the ability fully unwind and just listen to the birds and roosters. Host was awesome and your next door neighbors are delightful pasture of friendly goats you can do yoga with! Great location for accessing all sides of the island too, would 100% stay here again.
This cottage was an amazing place to stay! It was very private with its own little yard, and we loved hearing the chickens in the morning and watching the sun rise over the ocean. The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed, and Diana was a great host!
My husband and I spent our days hiking some of the most beautiful, challenging trails in the world, swimming at our favorite beaches and having Mai Tais with local Koloa rum on the lanai of our absolutely perfect hawaiian cottage. We loved our accommodations and seriously have never slept on a more comfortable mattress. Thank you, Diana.
