beautiful and safe location. spacious so very good for families and friends. Full kitchen is nice and stocked with all that u might need which was very useful to cook in since Hana is mainly food trucks.
Phenomenal property for your stay in Hana - especially for a large group
We found the cottage to be just as described. The photos also are accurate. The home to us had the feel of Aloha! Beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Location is idea to explore the community without the rush.
Wonderful stay. We loved the property!!!
This place was more than enough for our family of 5! We could have fit another family with us! Very clean, easy check in. The instructions on finding the place were spot on. We would definitely stay here again!
Our family stayed two nights and enjoyed the home and the grounds. Just outside town and very close to Wainapanapa State Park, the home was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed games on the deck, dinner at the dining table looking out at the ocean, and a few oranges and tangerines from the numerous trees on the property. Robin and Brad were extremely responsive and provided detailed information. Would highly recommend this quiet location in Hana.
My family and my oldest daughter’s family stayed together for a long weekend. Close to everything and a wonderful home.
We had a very relaxing time at this property! Such a beautiful place. We will definitely stay again.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the property is difficult to find. The host provides detailed directions, but the referenced mile markers didn’t exist and you need to know EXACTLY what you’re looking for if you’re going to find this home. We loved the charm and simplicity, but overall the home just didn’t live up to the hefty price. You’re not within safe walking distance to anything in Hana. It didn’t feel clean, as there were bugs, alive and dead, everywhere - along with other little critters running around in the house. I guess all of this is expected since there’s no AC and all the windows have to be left open all day/night. While the property is beautiful and lush, the ocean is barely viewable in the very far distance over the trees.
We had very high hopes, but this rental was a bit of a letdown based on what we paid to stay. .
After staying here, we realized why most people take the road to Hana and go back the same day: Virtually no amenities in Hana. We had trouble even finding food. Even the food trucks were closed! Finding the property was also difficult. We turned on the right driveway, but then there is a fork with no directions. The fork on the right goes down an unmaintained goat trail don't go that way. Signs are pretty cheap - put up a sign please! The property itself is wonderful, but since the location is bad due to lack of amenities, this property it WAY over priced.
Beautiful property in a wonderful location. The hosts were helpful and attentive. We cant recommend this beautiful oasis enough!!
A great experience for our first Hana visitors. Porch a great setting for whole family.
Perfect base for exploring Eastern Maui
It's beautiful house! And is close to black beach. We enjoyed our stay there. The only inconvenience is the wifi in that area was often disrupted, on and off. On the first day there was no wifi for the whole day, which we were told due to the disconnection issue of the whole area.
We had to leave the windows open and use fans because the house did get a bit stuffy. Because of the open windows, bugs find ways to draw themselves inside the house. I understand that the bugs are quite inevitable when it comes to the tropical weather and where the house is located. Hopefully, an AC might help with that in the future.
Other than that, the tropical views around the home are stunning and beautiful, especially during the sunrise and sunset. The exterior of the house is very pretty. It's very charming when you turn on the lights outside the deck at night. Overall, the house is cozy. The hosts (Brad and Robin) are also efficient at communicating and answering my questions. We had a great time in Hana. Driving along Hana road and through the jungle and green mountains is such a breathtaking and unique experience. Mahalo Brad and Robin!
The house and grounds are beautiful and the owners are easy to work with.
Beautiful spacious house and property that fully
accommodated our family during our stay in Hana. It offered everything we could want, was covenient to the downtown area and was tucked into a very quiet, private area. Would definitely recommend.
The private home in Hana is tucked in a garden escape with views of the ocean from basically anywhere inside the house that faces east. Each bedroom has a lovely view of the ocean, and it was amazing to wake up to see the rays move across the view. The kitchen was also well-stocked for if you wanted to make your own food. It is a perfect base for relaxing escape in Hana.
The only hiccup to our stay was the lack of internet access, as we needed to check-in for our return flight during our Hana stay. Cellular service (AT&T or Verizon) were nonexistent around the property, so outside communication depended on internet or the landline in the house. Unfortunately, the weekend we stayed had an area-wide internet outage for most of the weekend, so we were a bit stressed when internet access was not restored the day before our return flight. Thankfully, we were able to find decent cell service in Hana to check-in and get our mobile boarding passes.
If we return to Hana and this home is available, we would stay again (and be mentally prepared for a lack of internet access).
