Hale Mele Mele is one of Puako’s original beach cottages lovingly restored, refreshed and redecorated to feel like home-away-from-home. The fully-equipped kitchen, while compact, has all you need to prepare home-cooked meals utilizing some of the Big Island’s delicious fresh fish, meats, fruits and veggies. Beautiful quartz countertops and open shelving with colorful dishware complete the charm. The air-conditioned sitting room/dining area just off the kitchen provides a hang-out for friends or family to socialize during meal prep. Conveniently located off the kitchen, is the home’s full bathroom, with a charming and private indoor/outdoor shower accessible from the house or the carport; great for rinsing off salt, sand and sunscreen after a day in the ocean. Where else but the tropics can you bathe with nature year round?

Quick 2 minute walk to the beach every night for sundowners and sea turtles on the beach. The snorkeling at the end of the road is amazing - and a lot less crowded than close by beaches. Perfect launch point for the area and exploring. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely and perfectly located home. We could not have asked for a better location, close to snorkeling, swimming beaches, and situated well for exploring other parts of the island. Our hosts checked in with us several times and were always easy to reach and accommodating. The home itself is well-stocked with essentials, very clean, has comfortable beds, is charmingly decorated, and the outdoor shower is like a spa! Overall, an incredible place to stay!

This property came as advertised, maybe even a little better. Clean, full accommodations, comfortable, great yard and perfect location for us. Wanted something away from the touristy resorts without being too remote. The layout is a tad quirky but nothing that we couldn't adapt to. The property management folks reached out to me multiple times and were very helpful. I would definitely use this location again.
