Our home is in a rural area of the Big Island, on one acre of landscaped property with orchids, palms, banana plants, a koi pond and more. This is our personal residence, available the months when we are not there. The kitchen is totally equipped with everything but a dishwasher. , so it's very comfortable during the day, with nights usually in the 60's to low 70's. This is rural, about 1 1/2 hrs. from either Kona or Hilo, an hour from Volcanoes National Park. It's quiet, with dark skies at night. The local town is very small, with a few grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and a few local businesses like auto supply and hardware. Nearest ocean beach is 20 minutes away. The Kahuku segment of the National Park, with great hiking, is 10 minutes away. Our house is in a quiet area, with starry nights and panoramic ocean views during the day. Black sand beach, with resting turtles ashore is about 25 minutes. There are lifeguards, and there's snorkeling. This is real Hawaii.
If you have children under 12, please monitor them at all times. We have high decks (with appropriate railings), agave plants and a koi pond on the property.

Here you will find a home surrounded by a beautiful garden with a very large covered deck overlooking the ocean to the west. Stunning sunrises, warm breezes, and a canopy of stars and the Milky Way at night uninhibited by city lights. The home is as described, but more. Comfortable, welcoming and everything you would need. You experience a bit of the homeowners love of this island in the decor and gardens. For us, the location was ideal - away from the popular beaches, tourist shops, etc. Here you are close to The Volcanic National Park and many “gem” locations listed in travel guides. This is Kau coffee country (look up the history of the emergence of Kau coffee and Kona coffee). We enjoyed farm/fruit stands, local markets, and wonderful local places to eat and find local artist creations. The aloha spirit was so welcoming as we talked with locals. Hilo and the other side of the island is easily accessible.
Go, see, experience...
