The location and layout of the house fit our family perfectly! There were beach toys and supplies that were unexpected but much appreciated by the grandsons. I personally loved having a kite to fly on the beach.Yes, the house is older, but it has that beach feel to it that we loved. We didn't lack for anything while staying here. Glad there were A/C units in all of the bedrooms. The only downfalls to this place were 1) rat in the kitchen! There was a handwritten note in small letters posted around a picture on one of the refrig that said not to leave food on the table or counters but a heads up would have been good. We know it was much bigger than a house mouse because it carted off apples off the table two nights in a row. 2) the sofa in the great room and master bedroom needs to be replaced or have supports added to them, 3) the French door out to the beach is very hard to close, 4) no plug for one of the tubs, 5) need more than 4 beach towels.Other than the rat, this was an amazing place to stay. The only other thing that would have been nice is if there were clear instructions for leaving. Wasn't sure what was expected of us so we did our best and made sure towels were washed and dried. We started the dishwasher. We cleaned up and hopefully left the place better than when we checked in. We even cleaned and organized the chest of beach equipment. We also racked the yard a bit.We would definitely recommend this place and stay again!

The house was perfect for our family. It was big. Lots of bedrooms. The living space was perfect for gatherings. It was exactly as described in the description on VRBO. Older but mostly clean. Had everything we needed. I do wish we had known there would be beach toys for the babies and boogie boards. We bought some on our way from the airport. But there were plenty already at the house. And the location was the best. Right on the beach! We basically had the beach to ourselves. We will definitely come and stay again!

This property, on a beautiful beach, is worth almost 6 million but the house, built in 1938, is basically a tear-down. Unfortunately, the owner has not invested anything in basic maintenance or upgrades. Most of the windows do not lock so the house is not secure. Some windows don't have screens. The house needs new windows -- most don't open/close easily or can't see through them. The property profile states that it has a barbeque grill, which the owner verified in a message, but there was no propane in a rusty old tank and the grill wasn't clean, couldn't use it anyway. The property manager did not respond to our message. The picnic table on the back patio has black mold and loose boards--not usable, should be hauled away, could be dangerous for kids. There was no bath soap, shampoo or facial tissues. An A/C unit in one bedroom didn't work.The roof looks like it could fall in any minute. The grounds were a mess but someone came to clean up the debris as we were leaving. About 20 black trash bags in the backyard filled with yard debris, should be hauled away. Backyard is very large, could use a volleyball net, a pickleball court or something like that. There are various other minor maintenance and cleanliness issues. The description states that it's a "beach-worn" home but with some maintenance and attention it could be so much more pleasant, enjoyable and respectful to guests. But a beautiful beach, and the surrounding homes are beautiful too.

The description on VRBO was somewhat correct. Yes, it is an older home, but when you cannot see through the windows/screens, to see the perfect beach view because of filth, it does not fit the description. The beach access was the only awesome feature of the house. Yes, it is run down and poorly maintained. Smell when we first arrived was terrible. It did air out but was miserable to sleep with. We really were hoping for a better experience, based on the reviews online. Would not stay again.

This place is in the most beautiful location. It is right on the beach and most of the time we had that beach to ourselves. The home, as clearly stated in the description, is older and worn but has a lot of charm and plenty of room for our family of eight adults. Since 11 people are actually allowed to stay there it would be handy to have some fold up chairs for the dining room table but for us it was perfect.! Overall it was the most wonderful place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family.

My in laws gor the nice bedroom. we loved the quietness but also the proximity to grocery, restaurants, services. The bwdt part was the beach and sunrises through the window and falling asleep to the crash of waves. Great for relaxing.
