Relax on the lanai, take a dip in the private pool, or grill up some burgers on the Bar B. The ohana has a large living room with kitchenette and eating area, plus a comfortable bedroom with walk-in closet and king size bed with deluxe memory foam mattress. The adjacent bath, has a large walk-in shower. There is a TV/DVD in both the living and bed rooms, and included cable TV, internet, and wi-fi. There is also a pleasant seating group on the lanai. The property is adjacent to Kapapala Forest Reserve and the Tibetan Buddhist Temple and just 12 miles from Punalu'u black sand beach and 33 miles from Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. There are diverse native and imported vegetation species, a large variety of farm animals and our farm manager/chef on site. Everything you need. This 2 story, 1775 square foot farm house is divided into 2 separate units. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a large remodeled kitchen, dining area and a great room with a fireplace. The great room walks out to a covered patio overlooking a beautiful view of the organic farm and the blue Pacific ocean 8 miles away. We are a 20-acre start-up farm in beautiful Wood Valley, Pahala in the Ka’u district of the Big Island of Hawaii. The farm is nicely located on the gentle slope of Mauna Loa, cradled by the horseshoe shaped Wood Valley. Looking out from the house, you can see the serene blue Pacific Ocean and clear sky over a green pasture. At night, there are millions of bright stars surrounding you. The views here are incredible. Kapapala Forest Reserve is literally right in our own backyard. The Tibetan Buddhist Temple is also our neighbor. If you go further, there is the Ka'u Coffee Mill (better than Kona coffee!), Punalu'u Black Sands beach, South point with incredible cliff diving opportunities, spectacular and secluded Green Sands beach, ... the list goes on. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, feel free to join our farm manager and have some fun! Feed the goats, sheep, chickens, horses and koi fish, collect truly free-range farm-fresh eggs for breakfast, harvest and enjoy a variety of banana species, figs, cherimoya, papaya, mullberries, thimbleberries, coffee and citrus fruits. Or try working in the greenhouse grafting seedlings or transplanting young trees. Explore the beautiful lush grounds that abound with a huge variety of plant species, both indigenous to Hawaii and imported from around the world. Take an adventure hike in the neighboring forest, or easy stroll to the neighboring Buddhist temple. Enjoy spending time with the variety of farm animals on the property. They are our children and we offer them kindness and protection. No animal on our farm is treated hurtfully and none will be slaughtered. We have 3 goats (Creamy, Happy and Gilligan), 2 pygmy goats (Barney and Angel), 2 cats (Hazel and Basil), 2 dogs (Persephone and Pele), horses and cows that visit from our neighbors to graze the land, 15 chickens and approximately 200 koi in 3 ponds. All the animals are cute, playful and friendly with human. Please treat them gently and nicely. There is also a large variety of wild animals (Mongoose, Jackson's chameleon, Hawaiian wild boar, a large variety of bird species, etc).
