  • Quiet, Tropical Retreat On The Puna Coast

Let the soft rhythm of the nearby surf and the aroma of jungle flowers lull you into relaxation as you enjoy the spacious lanai of this new (2013) open concept home in Seaview Kalapana Estates. Our home is located on a secluded, dead end street, and is filled with sunshine all day. Once on the lanai, where you may well spend all your leisure time, you will look out to jungle and traditional ohia trees. Meals can be cooked on the Weber grill and served at the large table, with seating for six. Off one side of the lanai, through double french doors, you enter the great room, with large windows that offer views out to the jungle. Here is where you can gather with friends and family while you relive the day's adventures and cook up a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen, with gas range set into the large granite-topped island, microwave, full fridge, and dishwasher. When it is time to sleep, there is the colorful bedroom with queen size bed (and direct access to the lanai through double french doors), a Scandinavian sofa that reclines to form a full size bed, or the queen size murphy bed on the lanai, should you or family want to sleep outdoors. The large bathroom, adjacent to the bedroom and just past the stacked washer/dryer, has a tiled shower and plenty of counter space. You may decide to skip the indoor shower and exit through the bathroom door to the bamboo enclosed outdoor shower! This is the best place to wash off sand after a visit to the nearby, family friendly, and clothing optional Kehena black sand beach. If you are here over a Wednesday, a short drive will find you at Uncle Robert's Kava Bar where you can enjoy treats from local chefs, sway to the Hawaiian rythmn of slack key and ukulele, or just relish the sense of community.

  • Luxury 1-BR / Kitchenette Guest Wing... The Mini Pearl

My life, sorry my wife, and I were driving down a country road near the ocean shore listening to Hawaiian songs and each of us was in a magical place. We were going to a wonderful suite at the White Pearl, the Mini Pearl. This cozy wing is a lovely 1 bedroom, 1 full bath, kitchen, and lanai suite that is exactly the place to stay. The guest wing is part of, but separate to, the large White Pearl House Estate . It sits on the southeast wing of the main home on a 1.5 acre fully-landscaped manicured lawn and tropical gardens. The remaining .5 acre is a producing fruit orchard. The bedroom has a queen-size solid wood bed, a couch, TV, a standing lamp, a spacious clothes closet with a spare air mattress and a dining table with 2 chairs. Sliding doors from the bedroom open onto a foliage screened secluded tiled lanai that also has a table and chairs. The kitchen has a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, large sink, solid wood cabinets, is fully-equipped to use, and it has CD/radio so you can listen to Hawaiian songs. There's also a convenient washer/dryer unit. You're welcome to stroll the fully-fenced 1.5 acre yard, visit the fruit orchard whenever you'd like some fruit (lemons/limes/oranges, avocado, mango, coconut, breadfruit, etc). We have an electronic gate & rock-wall fence in front, explore the abundant tropical gardens & admire its beauty and serenity.

  • 2 Miles From Volcano National Park Entrance

Centrally located near the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in Mauna Loa Estates subdivision, and only about 30 minutes to Hilo, you are convenient to all of the sights and sounds that the east side of the Big Island has to offer. From here, swimming and snorkeling in Punalu’u Black Sands Beach or in Hilo is a 30-minute drive in either direction, and the Volcanoes National Park is practically in your backyard. Hale ‘Ohi’a Lehua sits perfectly on its private, quiet landscaped 1/2 acre with citrus and other fruit trees in the backyard, and the native Hapu’u ferns surround the edge of the property. Enjoy BBQ’ing outside and the crisp mountain air at 3500’ elevation. The large lanai is the perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, or a great book in the afternoon. Cozy up to the gas fireplace in the living room on those chilly Volcano evenings! Hale ‘Ohi’a Lehua sleeps 6-7 comfortably with a regular king bed in the master, a queen in the 2nd bedroom, and a twin & double bunk-bed in the 3rd bedroom. The master bedroom has its own large private bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. WHAT TO PACK: The Island of Hawaii, aka the Big Island, boasts over 4,000 square miles and 10 different climate zones, within which are many micro climate zones! You may think that packing your favorite swimsuit and slippers (flip flops) is enough, but not true if you plan on doing any hiking or sightseeing around the island. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park can get quite chilly with temperatures dropping down to the low 40s at night, sometimes lower, so do bring your favorite warm pajamas and at least a light jacket. It actually snows often on Mauna Kea, but they close those roads whenever there are blizzard conditions present. If you plan on doing a lava hike, you should consider bringing your hiking boots, as you’ll want good ankle support for this 1/2-day or more experience. At the very least, bring a solid pair of tennis shoes and don’t attempt the lava hike in flip flops. - 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-7) - Beds: 1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Twin/Double bunkbed - Television/Dish TV - NO INTERNET SERVICE AT THIS TIME – Please bring your own wifi device or use your cell phone - Full Kitchen - All Cooking Utensils - Microwave - Dishwasher - DVD/CD Player - Lots of DVDs - BBQ Grill - Gas - Washer & Dryer - Many Restaurants Close - No Smoking - No Pets - Hilo 30 min. - Kilauea 2 min. Thinking of moving here full-time and are looking at real estate? Hale ‘Ohi’a Lehua is the perfect solution to needing a furnished home until you either purchase or build your dream home in paradise. And we’re realtors! We are happy to help you find that perfect home, or lot to build! TA-149-975-4496-02 24hr contact
