Our girls love to surf at Kahalu’u and there is a great rental and lesson shop just across the street. Terrific boogie boarding at Magic Sands and big wave surfing at Banyans are just a little further towards town on Alii Drive. Keauhou harbor is home to the Fairwinds boat rides to Captain Cook for excellent snorkeling adventures. Get up early and be a guest at the Keauhou canoe club, but best to swing by and check with the club about times and what to bring, Kona Country Club is across the street. The upscale Keauhou Sheraton Resort is nearby for that sunset cocktail on water’s edge to watch the manta rays feed at Rays on the Bay bar. It is five miles and a 15-minute drive to the main town of Kailua-Kona for more shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Keahole-Kona airport (KOA) is 14 miles and 25 minutes to the north. The 1500 ft2 space is fully equipped with Wifi, three flat screen TV's, Air Conditioning, in-suite laundry, ceiling fans, and gorgeous deck, perfect for enjoying your breakfast. Both located on the main floor, the master suite includes a king bed, while the second bedroom has two full beds, both with their own bathroom with double sinks. Upstairs hold the kitchen, which is open to the living room and dining area (which can set up to 8), a half bath, and another bedroom with two twin beds and a lanai. Mauna Loa Village is just a few minutes drive from the Kona Country Club, the Sheraton Hotel, Kahuleau Beach Park and nearby snorkeling and paddle boards. Shopping is just a few minutes drive, or 10 minute walk, away. The Keauhou Shopping Centre includes a drug store, market, ice cream parlor, sushi, books store, farmers market on Saturdays, and even a FREE Friday night Hula show!

    Our charming, clean and beautifully updated studio awaits your arrival. Ten minutes from the airport up the mountain (Mauka) we are located at a wonderful elevation, away from the heat of town and just below the rain line. In a family friendly neighborhood the studio has reserved parking, private entrances and a beautifully landscaped garden and lanai area. The studio is a downstairs unit, surrounded by orchids and local fruit trees. Having been raised on the Island we are available to answer any questions and make recommendations for your trip. It is not uncommon for roosters to be crowing in the evening and morning. We enjoy beautiful sunsets and cool mountain breezes. Rental cars are your best bet when traveling to the Big Island. But there are several travel companies to choose from if you are looking for a bus or van tour. Please remove your shoes when entering the Ohana. We supply a broom, and basic cleaning supplies. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully stocked, but we do not provide body wash, shampoo or conditioner. We encourage and welcome long term and short term vacationers and have had guests stay one night up to two months. Please don't hesitate to email or call me with any questions. We are family friendly hale and it is quiet time after 10:00 p.m. No smoking No pets ( some exceptions made but we would need to discuss it first) If using beach equipment please rinse off all the sand and salt water when finished each day.
